This game is mostly skill/odds/stats/AND luck. Everyone gets the good/bad day (extra luck, good or bad) that WILL happen now and then... But I tried to make it worse... failed, sorry...

So should I put you guys down for chicken or fish? :p Chicken or fish? What? No steak? Anyway, depends on what kind of fish. The only kind I really like is salmon or tuna. Otherwise, put me down for the chicken. This is in August, right? A little bit strange that you're asking about dinner selections before the invitations have even gone out...... What's the exact date? Not to worry, though. Except for the Gangster BB weekend in Philly, I still have the whole month available.. The wedding itself is Saturday night, right? Have you made any arrangements with any hotels for special rates for the out-of-town guests? BTW, when's the bachelor party? I'm figuring on getting in on Friday afternoon, so if it's that night put me down for it. I was gonna maybe hit a couple of the Blues clubs Friday night, but I know the good ones all have a late show, so I can always go after the bachelor party. Actually, AAMOF, if the bachelor party is on Wednesday or Thursday I'd even be willing to get into town a couple of days earlier. Also, if it's the rehearsal dinner on Friday night and not the bachelor party, I would suggest that if you have guests coming in from out-of-town it's courteous to invite them to the rehearsal dinner as well, even if they're not in the wedding party. You know, we're in Chicago from wherever and we're strangers in a city we're not familiar with and everything.....

Hmmm.... You know what? My MWA DB only gets married once. The BB crowd, well, I see them a few times a year.... If it's the same weekend, then put me down for Chicago. Especially if there's gonna be steak. This BB crowd can't decide where to eat that night anyway - there's actually a chance that we may wind up on some crappy boat that was converted to a restaurant You know how awful those kinds of places usually are.... I forgot....did I PM you my address so you know where to send the invitation?

Cardinals?! I would ask how you ever expected a Cubs-Cards marriage to work out, but if you've already given in with Pujols in fantasy...well, you were a lost fan to begin with. Who am I kidding? I'd take Pujols in a heartbeat! Forget loyalty! No, I really do think you're a true fan, CS. You might do some things I could never do, like pick pitching against your own boys, but I think that stems mainly from your heartbreak in losing Sammy...though it's been a while, he is a tough guy to let go. Ah, all this teasing, and I'll probably end up marrying a Bonds fan or something. :p

Knowing you, that's not the kind of thing you're gonna wait to find out until "the night before" your wedding.
Knowing you, I think you should have the prospective groom fill out a "Sports Questionnaire" before you even accept an engagement ring.

It's all that shit pot stirring I do....leads to loads of PMs.
I knew my "Sports Questionnaire" idea wasn't original, BTW.
Remember the movie Diner?
The guy who was getting married was making his fiancee take a written test on the Baltimore Colts, and if she failed he supposedly was gonna call the wedding off.

I see how it is... no "yes" still... (At least I don't apply pressure, huh? )

Sweet!! You take care of the announcements... I'll be busy trying to get Roger, Andy, Willy and company (incl JD, Miggy, and that "boy" from The Sandlot) into the wedding party! On second thought, maybe you'd have much better luck than I would!

I'd like to call it an "open" marriage... don't really need to get into the details in public, tho!

Can we get back to business here, please? Here are tomorrow's betting lines for the games that we have our pitchers in (For some reason they don't have a line posted on the Dodgers, but that usually indicates that one of the pitchers isn't definite): Boston -400 Schilling (DB, JL, SC)
Tampa Bay +320
-
Mets -170 Glavine (CC, DC, GG)
Florida +150
-
Houston -120 Rodriguez (TM)
Pittsburgh Even
-
Detroit -170 Verlander (PL)
Cleveland +150
-
Others of Interest:
-
Oakland -130 Zito
Texas +110
-
White Sox -180 Contreras
Toronto +160 BTW..... If you're betting on the individual games, -400, meaning you have to lay 4-1, is a ridiculous line for a baseball game, IMO. You have to win four out of five bets just to break even. Yesterday, the Yankees were -360 against Kansas City and they lost. Also, interestingly, the White Sox with Contreras are the second heaviest favorite tomorrow and none of us took them.
