If you didn't start three days late I bet you'd be 7th instead of 9th, though. :p

Never heard of Miner? I've heard of him. I'm wondering if you ever heard of him. The question mark is because I think that the pick is questionable. I'm the de facto daily scorekeeper/commentator, and that qualifies as a comment. As you have certainly seen from watching our pitching staff choices every day, there are days in which there seems to be one standout pitcheer that everyone goes with, while some days the choice seems to be between several pitchers, as it was today. But where you came up with Miner from is mystifying. Not to say that he won't go out and pitch a 3-hit shutout, but I'd still be wondering what your basis was for picking him. SC, what Plaw is trying to say to you is that if you hadn't joined the game so late, you would be ahead of me also! No, that's not what I'm trying to say. That's exactly what I'm saying. :p

As you have certainly seen from watching our pitching staff choices every day, there are days in which there seems to be one standout pitcheer that everyone goes with, And being 700 points behind the first and and almost 150 points behind the 5th place team, I should pick the same pitching staff that they pitch? Nahhh. I'm a gambling man and being this far back in the standing at this point in the season, I'm gonna take my shots and hope that one of my outrageous picks, a pick that I would bet the house on that no one else is going to make that day, will come through while the "standout Pitchers" that most of the others pick that day goes bust. Hey, what have I got to lose at this point? Absolutely nothing. Don Cardi

SC, I just had to tell you...I watched Field of Dreams tonight! And this is about what I look like right now --> I'd seen the movie before, but it's been a long while. Here recently, perhaps with it being baseball season, I got the strong desire to see it again - I finally managed to find a DVD copy, and it's now a permanent part of my collection. I forgot what an absolutely incredible movie it is. Actually, though I've always liked it, I think it means even more to me now, because baseball means even more to me now. I laughed often, had tears streaming down my face during several scenes, and a few parts even gave me chills. I mean, that's baseball right there, you know? That intangible spirit and magic of the game is shown and felt through this movie somehow...it's wonderful. Anyway, I know you're a fan, and I thought of you during the "Wanna have a catch?" scene, and I had to tell you.

I might not have noticed otherwise. That doesn't make the pick any less questionable, unless you care to supply us with your line of reasoning. Of course I certainly wouldn't expect you to divulge any of the strategy secrets you employed that led you to the pick. It appears, however, that since your team is exactly the same today as yesterday's, you might have picked for several days at once - perhaps you're not going to be around this weekend? - in which case you might have felt that the Detroit PS for the next few days was your best option. Which, of course, is totally understandable and would explain yesterday's and today's pick. Otherwise, it simply appears to be a case of what MaryCas always says about the blind squirrel occasionally finding the nut. Thursday's Scores & Friday's Probables

[/CODE] Why don't you try scrolling up and reading the post that I made a few posts above. Perhaps if you looked before you opened that very opinionated mouth of yours every once in a while, you wouldn't get stuck with your foot in it as much as you've managed to do lately. :p Originally posted by plawrence: It appears, however, that since your team is exactly the same today as yesterday's, you might have picked for several days at once - perhaps you're not going to be around this weekend? - in which case you might have felt that the Detroit PS for the next few days was your best option. Is that what you did over in the Fantasy Golf game? Seriously though, that is not the case at all. I've been setting my line-up everyday since the season began. Of course when I go on vacation that will obviously change. As a matter of fact, if you remember, my complaint about this game is that you cannot pre-set your line-ups/picks more than a day in advance. Glad to see that being the "defacto daily scorekeeper you've decided to also qualify yourself as the commentator. But you left out 2 very important words in your self titled position : very opinionated commentator. :p Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job! Don Cardi

You're sooooo sensitive, DC. For years we've been playing this game and questioning each others strange picks from time to time, especially when we get down near the end and the issue of making deliberate - we call it "going unpredictable" - picks that seem crazy but are designed to go against the grain because that's the only shot someone has to make up ground. But sheesh.... Anytime I question one of your picks, you get all insulted and everything. Anyway....All commentators are opinionated - that comes with the territory and it's their right to be. As far as my foot in my mouth goes, I still say the pick was questionable, and you'd be hard pressed, I think, to find someone who doesn't agree with me. Yeah, it happened to work out this time. Congratulations. Maybe the reason that you're so far behind in the standings is because most of the time those questionable picks don't work out. Let's see what happens with your questionable pick of Robertson today. And remember the blind squirrel..... :p

Not at all. You always talk about the trash talking that goes on in your fantasy games, and whenever I respond with a little trash talking and kidding around, you respond with the " your so sensative" and stuff. Who's really the sensative one here Plaw? Originally posted by plawrence: As far as my foot in my mouth goes, I still say the pick was questionable, and you'd be hard pressed, I think, to find someone who doesn't agree with me. Well actually you asked me why I would not share my strategy for that pick, and that is why I made the foot in the mouth reference. You asked that question wayyy after I posted why I made that pick. Hence, foot in the mouth. Oh, and beside, I thought that you knew me well enough by now, but I guess that I was wrong. So I'll remind you again that I really couldn't care what you or anyone else for that matter thinks about my picks, if they are questionable, suck, or whatever. It's only a stupida focking game mang! Remember, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one! Would you care to share with me why you haven't made your picks in Golf? After all, weren't you the one who said that anyone who joins these fantasy games should stay committed and take their games seriously? Not being sensative Plaw, just spewing the shit that you've flung right back at ya! Enjoy your fantasy world! :p Don Cardi
