Thats great, Douche. You just made Geoff drool all over his keyboard.

I, personally, can't stand that stuff, but I'd love a pastrami sandwich now.

You.

I commented on your pick, and you got all huffy.

Oh, and beside, I thought that you knew me well enough by now, but I guess that I was wrong. So I'll remind you again that I really couldn't care what you or anyone else for that matter thinks about my picks, if they are questionable, suck, or whatever. It's only a stupida focking game mang!

Remember, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one!
I missed the post where you explaind your strategy.

Mea culpa

Anyway, another example of huffiness:

I really couldn't care what you or anyone else for that matter thinks about my picks, if they are questionable, suck, or whatever.

Quote:
Would you care to share with me why you haven't made your picks in Golf? After all, weren't you the one who said that anyone who joins these fantasy games should stay committed and take their games seriously?
Let's make an important distinction here:

That only apllies in games in which someone's performance or non-performance affects the other players.

In one of these salary cap games, I couldn't care less if someone stops playing completely.

AAMOF- and I know I've said this before - in a salary cap game, the more dropouts the better. The field is reduced and there's less competition, not to mention less work for the commentator/scorekeeper.

As far as the golf games goes, I stopped playing because except for a handful of golfers I never heard of any of these guys, I don't play or follow the game, I get no enjoyment whatsoever from the fantasy game since I don't watch golf on TV or follow the players, and my good or bad performance was based strictly on luck.

It certainly wasn't because I was doing poorly at it; As I recall I was doing rather well when I stopped playing.

But why play if it's no fun?

I guess that it helps them gain self confidence.

It reminds me of the little league parents who have opinons and negative things to say about the other kids that play. I've found that most of the time the reason for this is because these people themsleves did not have any success in sports as children, so they now live vicariously through their own children, hoping to surpress their own insecurities that they had to grow up with.

Hey, some people feel the need to live vicariously through their children, and others live it through their fantasy sports teams!

Fustrated wannabe Managers? Fustrated wannabe players? I really don't know.

No hostility at all. Just the facts.

Ok, I think I finally get it now. You can say, do, comment and question whoever you want, whenever when you want and how you want. And it's ok.

But once someone questions you and why you are saying something or commenting on something, you say that you are only kidding. And as soon as someone kids you back and talks some trash about you, then it's not ok. Then according to you, that person is getting huffy and sensative.

Huh?

I think the comments in the thread speak for themselves here.

I'll leave it to the readers to decide who's saying what to who (or is it "whom"?).

Please Plaw, stop the whining already. I was only kidding around with you in all of this and you've taken things too seriously. So before one of us says something to the other that we'll later regret saying, and to spare the others here from enduring anymore boring posts, I suggest that we end this now.

Delurking to say that the two of you (Plaw and DC) might as well just stand next to one another and measure who can piss furthest (or is it farthest, Plaw, my Grammar King?). And I swear, if one of you replies to this with "He started it," I'm going to smack your heads together like the two coconuts you are!!!

It's whom, because you can replace it with "him" (as opposed to "he" (who))

As you can see, Plaw isn't the Grammar King, I am. :p

It's "farthest" because you're referring to physical distance (far).

I hope this lesson helps further yall's grammar.

Figures Bethie would post that just before my announcement that I won't be around this weekend because I'm going to Maryland... We're doing Fathers Day at my brother's, so I'll have limited online time Saturday & Sunday... but I'll check in at night at least! Mods can call my cell for board emergencies...

It won't be me. I can't piss very far at all anymore.

As the male ages, the prostate usually enlarges, which cuts down on the strength and distance of the stream.

Or is that "TMI", as you say?

As far (or is it "fur") as the "farther" vs. "further" question goes, I had to look that one up.

My dictionary - American Heritage, 1991 - makes no distinction.

further
farther

I learned it as one is physical, and the other metaphorical. However, here's the "Usage Note":

Quote:
Usage Note:
Since the Middle English period many writers have used farther and further interchangeably. According to a relatively recent rule, however, farther should be reserved for physical distance and further for nonphysical, metaphorical advancement. Thus 74 percent of the Usage Panel prefers farther in the sentence If you are planning to drive any farther than Ukiah, you'd better carry chains, and 64 percent prefers further in the sentence We won't be able to answer these questions until we are further along in our research. In many cases, however, the distinction is not easy to draw. If we speak of a statement that is far from the truth, for example, we should also allow the use of farther in a sentence such as Nothing could be farther from the truth. But Nothing could be further from the truth is so well established as to seem a fixed expression.
I prefer the rule of farther = physical, further = metaphorical. :p

Damn, I gotta get up at 6AM and I'm worried about THIS??

As for this game, tho, I give up... and not cuz of the 6 pts in pitching... but the OVERALL 11 POINTS!!!

Why do I bother spending so much time picking a "perfect" lineup to get 11 pts...?

Quit the whining....you got 12, not 11. :p

I had half the same team as you did, and wound up with 4 points of offense.

Going into the late games I figured I was in decent shape because I still had three guys going, but they combined for an 0-12.

Plus, stupidity of stupidity, I forgot that there's no DH in the NL parks, so I had Gomes in my lineup

At least I had the right PS, though.

I've been trying for an hour to log into BBC, and it's down.
Only 1:45 minutes left to change rosters.
