I never seen a human being (is it?) in such a weird position. he looks more like an ostrich than like a pitcher.

A steal of home and an inside-the-park home run are probably the most exciting individual plays in baseball, IMO.
The steal of home, unfortuantely, is a dying art.
I remember about 30 years ago Rod Carew stole home several times in one season.
Jackie Robinson also stole home a bunch of times during his career in the 40's and 50's, but in most cases today it happens only on the front end of a double steal, when a runner draws a throw going from first to second, and the runner on third breaks for home late.
The inside-the-park home run is dying out because the parks are getting smaller.
Before Yankee Stadium was renovated in the 70's, they had the monuments on the actual playing field, and dead center was something like 470 feet from home plate.
Guys used to hit balls that wound up behind the monuments, and there were always several inside-the-park homers in Yankee Stadium every year.

Pretty damn good for stealing home. I believe that he stole home 5 times in a season for two years straight. But probably the most famous steal of home by Robinson was in the 1955 World Series against the Yankees : Don Cardi

Was that a picture of Robinson stealing home against the Yanks? I always thought Yogi was catching because right after the ump made the call Yogi got up and started jumping around arguing because it did look like Robinson was out.
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

I was able to find the video on MLB.com - amazing! Great Benny reference, Bethie. This place is dead, without scores and with little conversation... And I know I'm not one to talk, with my lack of spirit for the game, but I've been trying to set my lineup more often...so there. I really miss our fun conversations.

I'm going to try to do daily standings when I can, since my workload eased up a little (and since Plaw refuses to do it for some reason :p )... I may even do comments!

Ooops, my bad - sorry! I looked at PS and the first three batters only and thought you hadn't played... not that picking Wakefield made me think you didn't play or anything... You're such a sweetheart! But as I've said, anyone who feels ambitious enough can do the standings Or if someone wants to start it for the day, I could always edit it, etc... it's just kinda tedious to check previous days. I WISH ESPN would do some type of StatTracker like Yahoo has -- it'd be SO much easier!!

Well, I might pitch in as "Commish" if I see this thread dying out again. But I think I'll leave comments to CS.
