I'm having trouble seeing Wednesday's scores for everybody, so I can't post those - maybe JG's original post can be edited.

I'm wondering....

Should it be "Who we want to do especially well"
(i.e. we want everyone on our team to do well, but especially these guys)

or

"Who we especially want to do well" ?
(i.e. we don't care that much about the other guys on our team, except for these guys)

Or does it make any difference in meaning?

Or is one more grammatically correct than the other?

Thanks for doing the scores from yesterday, Plaw - I don't know why they weren't showing up, but it's working now. Friggin' ESPN, right?

Speaking of which...friggin' Chicago. I don't know what I was thinking. And besides fantasy, an Arizona loss would be in my best interest, considering the Wild Card race.

From 3:00 AM, when everyones rosters for the next day become available for all to see, until (usually) about 5:30 or so, they don't display any scores from the previous day while they check everything (I guess) and make them "official".

That's why the scores that JG sometimes posts - before 3:00 AM but after the games all are over - occasionally differ by a point or two from the "official" scores that I usually post in the morning.

Oh, that's right...

Now that I think about it, I don't usually check the previous day's scores after the deadline, so that makes sense.

And the "official" scores are just based on changes in scoring, I'm assuming.

Which reminds me - Chase Utley's hit streak is up to 35 games, now. I'd heard a broadcaster mention that one play concerning him was originally scored an error, then the official scorer later changed it to a hit. He said that Utley got another hit, besides that, but that got me thinking...that kind of stuff can prove to be very important in something like this situation. I'd hate to have something like that taint the streak...

Then again, you're always going to have those possibilities in baseball, I suppose.

You could just find the First Half results, then add in our current totals... I'll give you 10 mins.

It's been my experience that the Astros have a knack for giving any rookie or otherwise untrustworthy starter a great game - especially with Rocket on the mound. It's almost a tradition.

I'm hoping against that, for the boys' sake, but this game could bring anything.

Thanks for doing this, btw...

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

No problem - not sure how many more times I'll be able to, but I enjoy it.

Just let me know if there's ever anything that you need me to change, or that I'm doing wrong.

I don't care what anyone says, GG....

You're doing a helluva job

Very much appreciated, too, since JG and I are clearly losing steam here.

Just in case you run out, BTW, here are a few ideas for comments you can use for me:

-- Winning easily
-- Everything under control
-- Not threatened
-- Pulling away
-- Much the best
-- Looks like a runaway
-- Increases lead
-- Won't be caught
-- Race is now for second place
-- No one's gonna catch him now

I like this one: "lost half of his big lead in one day".
