My honest opinion is that I think the Geraci character was interesting, but he was ruined by the fact that Winegardner a) made Geraci in (supposedly) his own image and b) made him out to be Michael's equal, which we all know is complete BS. The character himself wasn't THAT bad but was taken way too far. Again, just my opinion.

hell yeah
Fausto Dominick “Nick” Geraci, Jr. (aka Ace Geraci), soldato under Tessio, later caporegime, later boss
All right, you are what you are. It’s your nature. You stay close to me. You don’t do anything. You keep your mouth shut, and your eyes open. And you do what I tell you. Understand?

I hated Geraci, I hated the book too, but I hated Geraci more; he was so neutral, plane and sooooo much of a cugine; you know, just a stupid cafone .... That's why I am not surprised that Winegardener shaped him after him!

Cleveland was hugely mobbed up back in the day, and still has some of that reputation - but with the decline of its manufacturing there are fewer dollars to chase.

While the book wasn't my fav, t didn't hate Geraci. He got buttfucked by Michael. Set him up in that plane to die, then set up again to take the fall with Cuba. He had every right to a vendetta against Michael. In theory, bosses are supposed to look out for their Caporegimes and Soldiers.
