Well I definitely didn’t start becoming a spectator instead of actively being involved because I didn’t get the high/low brow humor.

Seriously? A few here know (I don't know a lot of who's-who here anymore, because I became a "nomad" in & out of here long before now) my tale of woe. Frankly, I got tired of all the political exchanges and believer-bashing by the so-called "enlightened, progressive" crowd who belittles everything held absolute by others because they themselves have no absolutes...or much sense, for that matter. Just gets my blood pressure up, and who needs to waste time listening to fools like that when life is so short?

I miss the good ol' days when we'd argue movies, flirt with our lady posters here, or ridicule spoiled celebs, etc. Sure, I've done my share of "political exchange," theological discussions, etc. But most of the more civil, sensible folks who debated the other side are gone (Plaw, to name one)...so, why hang around with kiddies in a sandbox?

Thankfully, a few bright spots still shine here, but it's getting dimmer. I hope Geoff and SC still keep it going, though. Maybe it'll return to its Golden Days soon.

But what do you do if they take their sand and follow you around when you are trying to get away from them?

There used to be great topics here and some mature respectable debating, sadly that has gone out the window, all in your eyes, because of the Breakfast Club..whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better, the mature people here see who the ones are who are causing the problems, and it doesn't matter what "group" they are associated with.

Enzo, I'm not going to start naming names because that will just give people ammunition to bad mouth people who have nothing to do with the conversation. The level of debates on this board has gone down to 2 people name calling like 2 little kids, yeah its a "joke" to them but its stupid to everyone else.

We are considers members of this "Breakfast Club" because we have friendships off the boards, although according to Double-J they are shallow friendships.

I missed what the "Breakfast Club" joke is.

Is it just me, or do others sometimes draw a blank? You know, where you literally have nothing to say and are speechless? (I'm sure my family would consider that an impossibility on my part. ) Or, maybe I'm just getting old!
