Mignon, that's the one. And your answer is in exactly the same wording I had in mind. No prob, MM Tom Hagen. We'll go ahead and guess your clue. No use holding up the game if the last person who posted isn't currently online. Now for yours, the person who came to my mind is Fredo because he was telling Anthony the secret for catching "the really big fish."

In Las Vegas, the high rollers are sometimes known as "whales".
I guess you could say, then, that Moe Greene was a "whale handler."
That answer doesn't really fit the clue, of course.....just thought I'd throw that in.

MM Tom Hagen, this answer is going to be so ridiculous that you'll probably shake your head in disbelief (and laughter) . But I'll risk embarrassment for the off chance of a correct guess. (And at least readers may get a chuckle out of it.) Before the Sollozzo-McCluskey meeting Sonny says, "I don't want my brother coming out of that bathroom with just his dick in his hands." ... which made me think of "Moby Dick," the whale of literature . ... so I'm going to guess that the "whale handler" was Clemenza for planting the gun in the washroom. Or it could be Michael, since he had to "handle" it.

All creative guesses, but alas, all still incorrect. I'm thinking maybe I tried a bit too hard to come up with a good one, maybe made it too vague. Think of a whale handler's responsibilities, they have to care for, feed, and sometimes control this incredibly large animal. I'll tell you, the answer is a minor character, GFI.
I dream in widescreen.

Bruno Tattaglia?
He "handled" Luca, by sticking the knife in his hand, altho I don't see where the "feeding" part comes in.....

Yeah, just a bit..... Talk about minor characters....What'd she have? Five seconds on the screen (at a distance) and one line? I thought my Moe Green answer was better.

Darn, darn, darn. I just signed in, and I was reading all the guesses to MM Tom Hagen's clue. By the time he wrote " feeding of the whale" I knew it was Clemenza's wife. She made sure she had enough canoli on hand to keep her hubby fed. But, alas, I was too late to post it. ... and when I recall my original guess, I think I unwittingly gave Don Michael Corleone a huge COMPLIMENT about his manhood. I have to concentrate on dontomasso's clue now ... P.S. plawrence, I respectfully disagree that Mrs. Clemenza was too minor a character for this game, though. Her line, "Don't forget the canoli" opened the way for Clemenza to say that other famous line, "Leave the gun. Take the canoli." I think we've done almost every significant character and a few minor ones already. Once in a while it's good to have a clue that tests who REALLY knows the Godfather like "the back of his [her] hand." Just my opinion.

Finally, an easy one. Virgil "Blood is a big expense" Sollozzo. This 1960's TV sitcom could have been about him. (Note: Not "All In The Family")

It has to do with a comment Sollozzo made to someone while he was driving across the GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE
"Io sono stanco, sono imbigliato, and I wan't everyone here to know, there ain't gonna be no trouble from me..Don Corleone..Cicc' a port!"

Guess those pictures DID get leaked onto the internet [/b]Oops! My apologies, DonMichael . For some reason, when referring to the character of Michael in the GF films, I used his full title . I completely forgot that there is a member here with the name DonMichaelCorleone. I hope I didn't cause you too much embarrassment by inadvertently implying that I was speaking of you . So I must be more careful and distinguish between Don Michael Corleone (the GF character, a.k.a. the "whale handler," according to my silly guess) and DonMichaelCorleone (member of this bulletin board who, thankfully, has a good sense of humour .) ... Well, I predicted from the start that I was sure to make silly goofs when posting to this board. That was one of them .
