Personally I think that if they decide to do this, they would be better off putting it on cable as a Mini series. To put either of these books out as a major motion picture to the big screen, I believe that it would be a recipe for disaster because they would no longer would be able to cast the Pacinos, the Duvalls, etc. And the public would never accept these movies on the big screen as being legitimate Godfather movies. However I do believe that if it were put out through cable as a mini series, they could then get away with re-casting the parts originally played by the Duvalls and the Pacinos. I think as a mini series it would be more accepted by the public as it would be looked upon as a continuation of the Godfather movies. Don Cardi
Don Cardi Five - ten years from now, they're gonna wish there was American Cosa Nostra. Five - ten years from now, they're gonna miss John Gotti.

HBO could do it with the Sopranos ending soon. I liked what they did with "Gotti" and I think they're best choice to make something like this.

I think Pacino could still pass ( with make up ) for a Micheal Corleone between 1960-1979.

That would be good, but I also hold out hope for a "Westies" series, since "The Black Donnelys" is an average show that is VERY tame and kinda well...boring.

I think that the books could be a bit of a catalyst for a 4th Godfather movie. The movie should not be based on the books entirely but only certain things. Like Micheal's involvement with the president.

Yeah I saw that too, though "State of Grace" seemed to be a lot like the "Westies" already. I will definetly see it though.

What he said.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

I will pray each night that they do not try a GF remake as has become the fad in hollywood. I also pray that if they do it will be GFIV the way Puzo and Coppola had discussed and not based on the new books which are piles of s***. I wouldn't be too upset with Garcia returning as Vincent as Don with a possible inner family struggle maybe with Sonny's other children or Connies son (Micheal's godson) battling for family control with some scenes of Micheal retired in Sicily.
