Coming Tuesday, November 7th. The Martinis & Medicine Collection. The complete television series of M*A*S*H. The 36 disc set includes all episodes of the show (all 11 seasons) plus Robert Altman's film (on which the tv series was based) plus hours of extra features. Its listing at about $175.00. (Gonna start saving my pennies).

SC, try watching M*A*S*H without the laughtrack.
I never cared for that series, since its like one day, its total martinis and fun while cutting up bodies, then the next episode, total piss-vinegar emotions. Hell, FUTURAMA made fun of that.
However, I was over in Europe in 2002, and M*A*S*H was on in England...and I actually enjoyed it. Thing was, I had seen that episode before, and not given two farts about it.
Then I realized it. The show isn't played with a laughtrack overseas...and it plays better.
Just my thoughts.
P.S. - Why do we even need a laughtrack anymore? Are we that stupid still to need shows to tell us when its time to laugh?

I hate laugh tracks.... ESPECIALLY on a show that I otherwise love. Some of their (M*A*S*H) episodes were filmed without a laughtrack (I think the Clete Roberts interview shows, for example) and they were much better off. Oddly enough, I didn't like the show when it started. I always loved the Robert Altman film and felt the tv show denigrated the movie but after a few seasons I learned to love the show. Now, that DVD collection looks like pure gold to me.

But M*A*S*H is still syndicated on television every day between 5-7 PM on the Hallmark Channel, so until they turn it off (not likely), I don't really have a need to buy the DVD. In face, the only TV show I really feel the need to get on DVD is The Sopranos, although G.I. Joe and the original Addams Family (which is soon to be released) would be nice as well. Yo Joe!

True... but its always nice to be able to watch the episodes without commercials, and to have them available whenever you want to see a specific show. Its a lot of money but its worth it to me. I like the show THAT much!

Well, its like SIMPSONS. Its on everyday, at least twice, on most American syndicated stations(and from what I hear, likewise in most of the world).
However, I still buy all the season sets, and will continue to do so until season 10 (when most SIMPSONS fans agreed the show jumped the shark). Same for me with "Seinfeld". I have the first three (or four) seasons and enjoy them immensely more than watching the shows on tv.
