Here in AZ, there are no gun controls over and above Federal requirements, and you only have to take an eight-hour course to qualify to carry a concealed gun (including a concealed riot gun as long as it's 16" long). But nunchuks are absolutely outlawed.
When I was growing up, New York State was the only one in which the legal drinking age was 18. But the state had laws on the books that held that any place that sold alcoholic beverages by the drink had to sell more food than booze. This meant that every bar and tavern had to falsify their records to show that they were selling more Slim Jims, potato chips, pretzels, etc., than beer and liquor. The law also said that any place that served alcohol had to "provide sufficient light to read a newspaper by." But the law never specified the amount of light in any measurable way (e.g., watts, lumens, etc.). So the Alcoholic Beverages Commission inspector would come in and start squinting at his paper until the owner came across with a bribe.
