Mignon, your clue is going to hold the record for most incorrect guesses before someone figures it out wink smile .

How about Busetta, Michael's silent body guard? He had more eyebrows than eyes wink .

I had to go the internet movie data base (imdb.com) and look up a picture of the actor who played Genco (Frank Sivero) because I couldn't remember what his eyebrows looked like. Yes, they are quite prominent wink .

Now here's a nice cryptic one for you:
Beware should this man approach! He has the look of death about him.

Probably not it, but I thought of Mosca, with that weird sort of smirk he gives Mike right before he shoots him, and then the fact that he is immediately killed afterwards would constitute this as the look of his death.

I dream in widescreen.

All good guesses, but Bonasera is especially good. SC, I'm ashamed to say that I never even thought of Bonasera blush ; and the clue fits so well, considering that he's an undertaker.

But alas, Bonasera is not who I had in mind frown . Hint: Focus on the person's appearance.

Isnt there some character dressed as a skeleton? I think in the opera.

Well, I missed that (I didn't pay the greatest amount of attention to GF3); so no, it wasn't the skeleton. This person had a name in the movie and had actual dialogue.

A good guess, but it's not Roth. This fellow looks healthy enough, but there's just something about him that bespeaks death ...

No, it's not Tom. When you think of this man's "look" think of fashion.

He resembles a symbol of death wink .

Someone who wears black like a priest? Andrew or the Archbishop? I dont think Johnny Cash was in the GF movies wink

dontomasso, you are on the right track. It has to do with what the person is wearing, but it's not black attire.

Another hint: It's not from GF3.

I think you identified the person as male, but it certainly could be Vito's mother who was in mouning clothes (and armed) as she approached Don Ciccio.

Well, I didn't spot that one about Vito's mother -- mourning clothes and a gun wink . That would have tied in nicely with my clue.

However, Signora Andolini is not who I had in mind. My character is indeed male: Beware should this man approach! He has the look of death about him.

So we've established that --
  • This man is not in GF3.
  • He's a fairly prominent character: he does have dialogue and he appears in several scenes.
  • He doesn't "look like" death in the sense that he's old and sick, or that he's threatening.
  • He himself hasn't killed anyone (that we know of).
  • He doesn't dress in black, but the key is in his attire.

There's just something about him that looks like a death symbol. cool

Are you talking about Genco, waiting to die in the hospital bed?

No, it's not Genco. This fellow is not sick or on his death bed. He is in good health. The key is in his attire. It's reminiscent of a certain death symbol.

Fanucci (the "Angel" of death; angels are dressed in white)?

Pentangeli (in his military disguise; people in the military kill people)?

Excellent guesses that apply both attire and death symbols; but unfortunately, neither one is the person I'm thinking of.

The symbol of death that's suggested by this person's attire is particular to the Godfather films.

Orange. Now who's dressed in Orange.

Moe Green or Johnny Ola?

I'm going with Ola.

Don Cardi cool

[Linked Image] Clue solved! We have a winner among us! [Linked Image]

Yes, the answer is Johnny Ola. With his orange suits, he looks like the very image of death. Beware of oranges! orange orange orange

It took seven different people and a total of 12 guesses to get that one. (Well, I said it was cryptic.) That means it was either a very good clue (challenging) ... or a really lousy one (obscure) wink .

It's someone else's chance to give a clue now. Don Cardi, if you are online, it's officially your turn.
