I was reading a women's magazine from India called "Femina" just yesterday, and they had an article on pomegranates! What a coincidence. Well, it's also the season for it, so it's not that much of a coincidence...

So, I already knew about how healthy it is because of the antioxidants and Vitamin C that it has, but here's something I didn't know: Babylonians used to chew pomegranate seeds before every battle to make them invincible. Interesting, no?

Also, many Egyptians apparently were buried with pomegranates.

And it didn't mention this in the magazine, but of course we all know the role of pomegranate seeds in the Greek myth about Demeter and Persephone, too.

Fascinating, isn't it? It's just a fruit, but look how many centuries of legend there is behind it.

When it's all said and done though, it's just so good.

Although pomegranate is not available around the year, it is interesting to me that it is such a huge deal to us. The name also is so easy in Persian; it is among the first things kids learn to write in the school: "Anar". Just that! We also use its paste and it actually makes a delicious dish with mixture of mashed chicken and walnuts.

I love these two decorative flower pots, I've bought recently. I've not found a perfect place for the second one yet, it is a bit taller than I'd have liked it to be. I'm afraid that I break parts of the flower if I try to change its pot to a shorter one. But don't they look natural and gorgeous?!

Oh cool... in Armenian it's "noor". So nice and simple. Why does it have to be so long in other languages? In Italian it's "melagrana", at least that's what my grandma used to call it so I don't know if it's a dialect or something... in Spanish I think it's "granada". They're both too long, in my opinion. When they can be as easy as "anar" or "noor".

By the way, the pots are beautiful. And the flowers too! Those are gorgeous! Can you keep flowers like that alive? I never can... I water them for a little while and then I forget and they die.

Those flowers are made with salt dough or something along those lines, like mixture of flour and wood glue. But they are very well made. All year long fresh and alive.

I used to make flowers myself mixing flour, wood glue and oil color, but I never could make it as good as these.

Its a racist country(world) we live in. I have seen the cable news guys today saying "Well.... Richards is wrong, but we need the black rappers to stop saying it(n word) too b/c if we don't stop them from saying it then reprimanding someone like Richards is only a temporary solution." To me this kind of talk RIGHT NOW is uncalled for. Maybe there is some truth in what they say but I don't feel that way at all.

Whatever...it sucks to see this guy who we associate as 'Kramer' turn out to be like this, but these types cost a dime for a dozen.

I would probably take the signature off if it were mine Gina (Atleast temporariy*). 'Seinfeld' is my favorite show ever and I'm not offended if you don't though. What the hell the show was only good when Larry David was writing anyway. After David left, and Jerry took over, it sucked. Especially the last few seasons. I'm pretty shocked Jerry let Richards come on the Letterman show too.

Glenn Beck's nightly show on CNN Headline News channel to name one. And I have definitely seen the same type attitude's' on other shows/stations. EDIT-They are not saying that rappers are the ONLY problem but thats its a global problem. Beck cited 7million world wide deaths last yr due to race-hate crimes to accompany his particular theory that includes the rappers.

Stand-up comedians hate hecklers. When I saw George Carlin live a heckler ruined a joke with his Howard Dean screams, so he ordered the audience to stab the heckler to death or stick a dick in his mouth.

I disagree. Richards could just as well have called the heckler an ignorant asshole but he instead chose to attack the heckler on the basis of his skin color. Thats a racist remark.

(Don't get me wrong - the heckler started it by calling Richards a racial epithet and he's no better than Richards, BUT Richards has to own up to his reply to the heckler).

I just seen a commercial for the new Rocky movie called "Rocky Balboa" Opening December 22nd. The thing is I didn't see "Adrian" in the commercial.

Of course he will take responsibility for lowering himself to that level. However you don't see him coming out saying "I snort cocaine and will enter rehab." His apology seems completely honest and true. When faced with intense anger one will usually go with the most damaging retort. It's natural human instinct. But you have people like Sharpton coming out saying "I will not accept his apology."

If Richards called him an ignorant asshole it wouldn't have gotten any better for him, he'd just continue building up anger when the man started laughing at that. What pisses me off is that sarcastically calling someone a ni--er(.*?) is seen as a genocidal act while no one really cares that someone else is called a cracker-ass white boy. I'm not saying Richards' move into that dark humor was right, but I don't think he should be the only one looked down at here. I also love how some patrons lied on the news about Richards' comments.

I'm aware of that but I have heard several times he was allegedly called a cracker first. Richards also said the cell phone video was cut at his mark for a reason.
