I came across this picture while looking for Godfather photos and posters online. Link: Movie Market UK: Godfather Part II Photos

I didn't see this scene in the Saga. It's been a while since I've rented the movie version of GF2, so this could have been there and I just don't remember it. Can anyone tell me if this scene is in the movie and what the context is? Thanks all.

Definitely the Tahoe party. Maybe one of the deleted scenes, or a photo from set- there are many. I havent seen the movie for a while too, though.

Probably a photo. It wasn't in the trilogy, and since you said it wasn't in the Saga either Cristina, I think it must be a set-photo.

So by set photo, does that mean the actors are just meeting and greeting fans that came to the set?

Or does it mean that press or studio photographers took pictures of the actors between takes?

Or does this depict a no-dialogue (background) scene that was filmed but never used in the movie?

Or could it be any of the above? (I never was clear on what is meant by a "set" photo. Does anyone know?) Thanks for your help Enzo and JustMe (and anyone else who wants to reply smile ).

That looks like the suit Michael was wearing at the Tahoe party (oily hair and silk suits) I don't recognize the guy to the left.

It's definitely Tahoe. You can see the dock in the backround.

Hmmm, a multiple choice question with an all of the above option!!! lol wink

I would go with answer C) A No Dialogue scene that was probably never used in the movie.

Sounds good. I definitely do recognize the suit Michael is wearing and the dress that Kay is wearing as being from the Tahoe First Communion party at the beginning of GF2.

MaryCas, the man on the left is Tom Hagen lol . OK, I know you meant the man on the left who is seated. Hmm, I wonder if that's Geary's man, Turnbull confused .

I guess we'll never know (unless our own Turnbull comes up with the answer). cool

Cris, by your lol , I'm not sure if you're kidding. That is not Tom Hagen - look closely. But that is Al Neri behind Kay.

That's not Tom? I actually did think it was Tom Hagen, no kidding.

I had to borrow one of SC's Tom Hagen photos (that he previously posted on another thread). It shows Tom in the boat house at the Michael-Geary meeting during that same Tahoe party:

[Linked Image]

Well, what do you know. The man in the photo isn't Tom. Tom is wearing a light gray suit like Michael's and he has no handkerchief in his left suit pocket. The man in the photo is wearing a dark suit. He also has a larger nose than Tom.

Good eyes, MaryCas. In my defense, though, they appear to have very similar builds, the same forehead, and the same amount of hair. It was an honest mistake wink .

I love the look of boredom and disgust on Kay's face. It says "I wish I were in New Hampshire teaching kids". frown

I think the guy who at the left of Kay looks like Altobello.

Edit: But he only looks like it, I am not so stupid to believe he actually is altobello.

Cristina, it's definitely Tahoe and it's definitely from a piece of film that was never used. There must be hundreds of thousands of feet of film on the "cutting room floor," and I will be they could be spliced into several fantastic movies.
BTW: Notice Neri in the background. Unless I'm mistaken, the only time Neri's seen in the film at the Tahoe party is in the boathouse--never mimgling. Rocco was the chief ecurity guy at the party.

A short poetic effort....

The trilogy's great
On that we agree
But would I would give
For what I can't see
While for some it's enough
Some others want more:
To see what was left
On the cutting room floor.

lol Another great line form a classic boxing movie.

Seems to be a lot of quoting from Boxing movies on the boards today. Check out the 2006 GangsterBB convention topic.
