Probably going to see the band Dramarama for the umpteenth time, but for the first time on New Years. P.S. Two people cannot smoke an 8th of weed in one night. Nice try.

Back in the "old" days my husband and I would always make New Year's Eve reservations far in advance to a nice restaurant with dinner, dancing and drinking :). The only downside was in Michigan, you never knew what the weather would be like. I remember driving through some pretty blizzardy icy weather. My how things have changed. I will be going out to an early dinner tomorrow and then will be babysitting my grandkids so my daughter and son-in-law can go out to dinner and a movie. I'm looking forward to it. Then New Year's Day I'm making dinner for my family. Have a Happy and safe New Year everyone! TIS Angie, how are you? Nice to see you back! Btw, how much is an 8th of weed these days??? 8th of a joint, 8th of an ounce, 8th of a kilo??

TIS, I don't know what everyone else's interpretation is here, but I was talking about an eighth of an ounce, which goes for about $20 (for schwaggy stuff) to about $40 (50 for really good stuff) around here (or so I hear :p) Ange, good to see an old face.. hope you stick around Not exactly sure what my plans are going to be yet (too far ahead), but I'm sure it will include me, and alcohol. And tonight I'm going to see an independent horror flick debut by myself, Hatchet Jack (sounds amazingly cheesy, no?)

Like SB, my nights of getting dressed up, hitting a nightclub or one of those outrageously priced ballroom packages with dinner, open bar and a band are in the past.
My family hosted a holiday party tonight where friends came over to eat, drink, watch football and share a few laughs. We'll be doing it again on New Years Eve at another friend's home, which is within walking distance. By 1:00 AM I'll be home watching some Twilight Zone. I always enjoy the post-midnight calm when I get home.
SB hit the nail on the head as this is truly amateur night. A lot of inexperienced and young drinkers will be out on the town. Please drive defensively this night.
On New Year's Day I prepare a big pork and sauerkraut dinner with mounds of buttery mashed potatoes, a medley of carrots and snow peas, salad and fresh baked rolls. Having pork on New Year's Day, according to tradition, is supposed to bring good luck. While I'm not German, I live in an area that has felt the influence of the Pennsylvania Dutch, and have developed a taste for this meal. I'll also watch a lot of football and perhaps take down a Christmas decoration or two.

an eighth of an ounce, which goes for about $20 (for schwaggy stuff) to about $40 (50 for really good stuff) around here (or so I hear :p) Well. "From what I hear" that's kinda cheap! I've "heard of" people paying up to $300/ 8th for *really* good chit. Last I heard, around here, it's about $60 for decent stuff. Not that I'd know anything about that, though.... ...but y'all are still fulla crap going thru an 8th in one night! (cuz that ONLY tells me how little you know how much an 8th is -- OR -- if you can, somehow, smoke that much, it must be pretty damn poor shit) ...from what I hear

If one is a very heavy, regular Midnight Toker, then it really wouldn't be much of a feat to do an eighth. But, if one is at that point, then one has (more than likely) built up such a tolerance that really good weed would be wasted (no pun intended) on that poor unfortunate. To quote the Joe Walsh album: The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get. Or, so I've heard. Signor V.
"For me, there's only my wife..."
"Sure I cook with wine - sometimes I even add it to the food!"
"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?"
"It was a grass harp... And we listened."
"Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?"
"No. Saints and poets, maybe... they do some."

Back in the "Stoner" Age, an average bag (one ounce) was $10.00 and usually not real kick ass stuff, so they say :D). However, some good stuff would could run $40/60 dollars an ounce, but all you'd need is just a couple tokes (or so I'm told ) TIS

"From one coast to the other, TIS. Btw, that's not the secret ingredient in your meatballs, is it?? Come to think of it, it would keep them coming back for more, though." OMG!! I thought that was basil! TIS
