We all know TIS never likes to draw attention to herself (with the possible exception of when someone tries to crash the line in front of her at a breakfast buffet) but she became a grandmother (for the third time) yesterday. TIS posted the good news in the "Random Post" thread and I know many of you don't bother reading that so I'm copying her original message here. I am very happy to announce the birth of my third grandchild! Born yesterday to my daughter and son-in-law was little Evan Scott (The first male grandchild). He weighed in at at 7 lbs 12 0z and is 19" long. A truly beautiful baby!!! Mother (although very tired) and baby both doing great. There's nothing quite as beautiful as holding a brand new life in your hands. Awesome!!!! Thanks for letting me share!! TIS The replies that were received over there follow: Woo hoo! We were wondering since your post what the outcome was. You should start your own thread so that some who may not come to this thread will get your wonderful news. Now we'll have 3 people to wish a happy birthday on January 6th. Thats wonderful news, TIS!!
I'm very happy for you.
Congratulations! Grandma TIS!!!!! That's terrific!! Congratulations! As Melanie says in Gone With the Wind, The BEST days are the days that babies come!!
God bless Evan Scott!! Thanks guys!! Yea, it's so exciting. I went with my daughter to to doctor's on Thursday. The doctor examined her and said, "I'm surprised you're still walking." The baby was so ready that he told her to go to the hospital on Saturday at 5:00 a.m. but thought she'd have it even sooner. She had no real symptoms to speak of except some not too bad irregular contractions I've been at her house the since then watching the other two grandkids and trying to help her out by cleaning, cooking, etc. so she wouldn't have a lot to do when she got home. Can you believe they now release you 24 hours after delivery??? I can't get over that. She delivered yesterday at 2:30 p.m. and was home today by 2/3:00. I do admit however, I am exhaused!!! TIS

Congrats, TIS!! I'm glad your third grandchild was a masculine grandchild! And I'd be honored (even tho no one asked me ) to be his honorary Godfather, sharing the same birthday.
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Another January 6 baby! Don't worry, so far only really great people have been born on that date, so he'll be fine. Hey, I thought January 6th was supposed to be Three Kings Day. We got two kings and a queen.

Congratulations TIS! Boy, you must be exhausted! Glad everything went well and everybody is home safe and sound. And with a newborn, I'll bet there's a lot of sound! Signor V.

I'll make this my official congrats TIS. It sounds like you really are walking on air. But then again, being a grandmother is the best job. You can love them, spoil them, fill them up with sugar and send them home. But since he was born on Geoff's bd you couldn't convince your daughter to make his middle name James or Geoffry? You have 2 daughters, correct? Are all 3 grandbabies with the same mother?

Aw!! Thanks SC! Yes, a "masculine" child is quite new. I am certain, having had two nephews, that I changed a diaper or two, however it's been many many years. When it came time for a diaper change, the two other little ones (ages 4 & 2) and my other daughter and I gathered around like it was an "event" . We waited for the other little ones to make some comment and they didn't let us down. They pointed and said "What's that?" Btw, this cracked me up. My daughter heard from someone in the hospital that there is this cone shaped thingy that you put over a little boy baby so you don't get sprayed. Do you know what it's called? A "PeePee Teepee". Thanks for all the good wishes. Events like this are impossible for me "not" to share. You guys are wonderful!!! TIS

TIS, I am so happy for you and your daughter's family. This is indeed a blessed event. Never having boys myself, I have heard rumors about the "spray". I can just imagine!! I'm glad to hear that you're there to help, as they didn't give your daughter much of a chance to recover. May God continue to bless them all.

[quote=The Italian Stallionette]I think I'll give Evan a "BB" connection and since they have the same birthdays, ask Geoff and Zia to be honorary Godparents. What do you think????? Of course that means they (Geoff) better lead him down the right path, or they'll have me to deal with. TIS, judging from JG's posts, if he is Evan's Godfather you will be sure he'll know the answer to "What's that?" lol Ha ha!!! Let's hope so! TIS

Of course that means they (Geoff) better lead him down the right path, or they'll have me to deal with. And right now, our esteemed Don Malta is probably hiding under his bed and shaking in his boots! You will, of course, post some pictures eventually so we can all get properly mushy over your new grandson. Signor V.

Thanks again everyone!! I couldn't resist going shopping for little boy clothes yesterday! What a different experience. My son-in-law is a diehard Lakers fan, and I was lucky enough to find a nice selection of infant Laker clothes. Among other things, I bought Evan a "Lakers" sleeper, with a Laker's cap and all. He looks soooo cute. Oh, and a little infant suit with a tie. It's so fun dressing babies how you want them to dress. And Beth, yes, I do have two daughters, and only the one, Gina, has children, and baby Evan is her third. She has the patience of a Saint, so I have no doubt that she'll adapt very easily. God bless her. TIS

Yes, Gina must be a saint. But I'm sure your other daughter enjoys her role as being the aunt who gets to spoil them and send them home. As their grandma does. My family is just the opposite. I have a niece has has 2 boys, 2 years and 6 1/2 months. I have a niece who's pregnant with a girl. Natalie is due February 10. Her shower was Saturday. All I know is the doctors better be right and she's having a girl. Or some boy is gonna have about 250 pink outfits to wear. After buying clothes for 2 boys it's so much fun to buy the little pink dresses and outfits. I think she has enough outfits that she probably won't be able to wear anything twice before she outgrows them.

My other daughter, Angie, is loving her new nephew (and I believe will be Godmother to him) :). I think it might not be long before she starts a family. Boy, how quickly families expand hu? She was one who, at one time, a few years back, said "I'm never going to have kids." Now, I sense she's changing her mind. Since you've bought things for little boys, one thing that always puzzled me is, what kind of little stocking stuffers do you buy for boys? For the grandaughters, there's always girly things, like ribbons/bows, pretend make-up and jewelry, etc. but I can't think of anything for a boy. I am planning ahead, as you can see. TIS
