Anything with wheels, TIS!! Little boys are always born with the "vroom" gene! Matchbox cars, toy firetrucks (ones with working sirens are best, although your daughter won't appreciate it), anything like that. I have 2 nephews, and I remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were quite popular, although I'm sure that's no longer true. Beth's right - tub toys are great, and they even have plastic books that they can take in the tub. Once he's older, they love character stuff, from Blue's Clues to Thomas the Tank Engine to Barney. And there's always Sesame Street to fall back on!

One of the "neatest" things about being a grandma IS that you can (and do) tend to spoil them. The older ones always, always say "grandma you got something for me" (and I always bring something be it candy or a toy). This kid has to be tough. One of the hardest things is to get his older sisters (2/4) to not get to rough. They like to touch his face, and almost always, for some reason, want to touch his eyes; or they get a rattle or toy and shake it right in front of his face, again right in front of his eyes. I'm afraid they'll poke his eye. This baby just is so mellow and doesn't seem bothered by anything. As a matter of fact, I went with my daughter last week to the doctor to get Evan circumsized. We were just cringing and so sympathetic to this beautiful good natured baby, getting what I imagine to be a pretty painful procedure done. They wouldn't let anyone in the room when it was done, but we did hear him cry, but only briefly. He healed up within days, and never appeared to be in discomfort. Glad that's over with. That was a totally "new" process to me. TIS Don't let me go and on now!!! n

What lovely pictures - and what a beautiful baby. One look at that face and you fall in love.
