Well cheers everyone. The wee fella is called Ben, and he is small. He arrived from the stalk 4 weeks early but is all healthy and fine.

Still doesn't do any tricks yet.

Sure he does Turi, bring your hand near his and he grasps your finger like he will never let go. This is so sweet in little infants. This make me fall in love with them instantly. Of course when they start crying they belong to their parents and I'm out of there.

I've grown up loving my uncles because they were always so funny to be around, and they were as cool as brothers. I think you'll fit this job perfectly - the kid's going to love you.

I've heard how cold it's been there! I saw on the news that a large number of orange groves and other crops were destroyed because of the freezing.

That reminds me of a quote I read on The Onion:

I know, it's insane! Did it snow near you?

It snowed this afternoon in Malibu, Venice, and parts of Santa Monica (not my house though, unfortunately). It's so weird, I've never seen that before in my life, anywhere around here. Today I was seeing snow on the sides of the streets, and on some rooftops and lawns within like 5 minutes of my house, and it's like unheard of. I didn't have class today, but my mom said she heard there was snow in Westwood too, near or at UCLA. Can you believe it??? I still can't.

It's not like deep snow or anything, it's just a little bit, but still, it's the most surreal thing, driving on a street, seeing our ocean on one side and snow on the other. Very, very strange.

I bet it'll melt fast though.

By the way, our friends all around the rest of the country are probably going, "Woooowwwwww, snow, big deal." But hey, it's a big deal if it's never happened in your city before!

Oh and XDC, that's true, that's the only part of the screwdriver that's good. I'll have a screwdriver, hold the OJ.

Two days ago, my daughter called me in the morning all excited to tell me it was snowing. She only lives about 8/9 miles from me, and it didn't snow by me. Nothing big, but obvious flakes, which didn't last long. My grandkids and her were all excited. Ha ha.

There have been a few times at my school too, where we've seen flakes. Everyone gathers by the window all excited. Not me. I say ! When you were raised in that kind of weather, and never liked it, you just can't see the excitment.

I am use to seeing it from afar, on the mountains. Ok, it looks pretty, as long as I'm at a distance from it.

But yea, I'm freezing my ass off here. I'm bundled up in a blanket as I'm typing this.

I found out today that a girl from back home, who I've known forever and was on my high school and travel soccer teams died today. She had two types of leukemia, she's only 18.

What really makes me mad is she died at 11am this morning, and my brother called me to tell me at 11:30. Apparently one of his classmates' mother works at the hospital where Kristin was at, and the mom texted her daughter (who was AT SCHOOL, TAKING FINALS) to tell her that the family was saying their goodbyes and that she was getting ready to pass on.

How fucking tacky is THAT? I plan on finding out who that mother is and making her feel like a piece of shit. I mean, she couldn't even let the family be the ones to let the public know?!? (It was a big inspirational story back home, because a few weeks ago they announced the doctors were baffled because she suddenly got better)
