You (were) cordially invited to attend the 4th Annual GangsterBB Weekend being held Friday PM to Sunday AM, August 17th-19th, 2007, at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VENUE HAS CHANGED After some careful review, we've decided that the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick would be a better location as it is conveniently located within walking distance to many fine restaurants, bars, shops, and other activities. The Piscataway location seemed to be too out of the way, and driving would've been necessary too often. We've only moved about 10 minutes, across the Raritan River. New Brunswick is very conveniently located by train between New York City and Philadelphia, and home of the Texas Bowl-winning #12 ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team. Nearby to the best burgers on the planet, as well as the biggest deli tongue sandwiches you'll ever drool over, this weekend promises to be as good a time as always! I'd like to publicly apologize to Mignon and her dear daughter Becky for this change, after all the headaches they went through trying to communicate with the GM of the original hotel! I just feel it's for the best, and will be a better time for us all because of it. I'd also like to apologize to anyone who's already booked their room at the Embassy Suites, tho I don't think anyone has yet. Sicilian Babe contacted the Hyatt and got us a good group rate: GUEST ROOM RATES - PER NIGHT ( lowered 2/12) Single Occupancy: $ 109 Double Occupancy: $ 109 Triple Occupancy: $ 134 Quadruple Occupancy: $ 159 Room rates are quoted exclusive of applicable state and local taxes (which are currently 15%) or applicable service, or hotel specific fees in effect at the Hotel at the time of the meeting. They will hold 10 rooms at the rate quoted and everyone should call to book on their own, under "Small Family Reunion". If the rooms don't get used up, then they will release them three weeks before the 17th of August. Everyone MUST have their reservation in prior to July something. The earlier the better, because if we happen to need more than 10 rooms, we'll have to check with the Hyatt. In addition, let it be noted that if you desire to stay just one night, the special rate will still apply. *** NOTICE: The reduced room rate expires Monday, July 23rd - If you plan on going, please make your reservations now! ***After we get through the headcount, we can then take the next 6 months (and 50 pages) to decide where we'll be eating dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, and what activities most of us would like to do (visit Corleone mansion, racetrack, just getting crunk, etc). lol Feel free to post any other thoughts.... RSVP ASAP

Is smoking allowed there? So far, maybe. No, but there's a Shula's 2 (bigger prices, smaller portions) at the Doubletree in Elizabeth near Newark Airport. (Do I sense a venue change? Nah, who wants to stay in Elizabeth! ) Listen, all this Shula's-this and Shula's-that - why don't we go to the Shula's Hotel & Golf Club/Spa outside of Miami?
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

...and what activities most of us would like to do (visit Corleone mansion, racetrack, just getting crunk, etc)... Personally, I'm interested in what one must ingest...and how much of it...in order to become sufficiently 'crunk'. Apple

Sadly, I will not be able to make it either. For most of the reasons listed (except "not interested"). The distance, the date don't quite jive with me schedule. Although, if things change, who knows, I may just pop in the last minute and surprise you all. However, that's doubtful at this point. I'd encourage anyone interested who can attend, to do so. You will have a great time, with a bunch of really nice people. You all have a wonderful time!!! TIS

DoubleJ - I surely thought that you would be one of the first to post here saying that you were interested in joining us for this year's BB weekend. Are you planning to? Don Cardi

Don Cardi As soon as I receive notice on my PhD. applications and where/what schools, I'll have a more definitive answer. Until then, I can't say one way or the other, especially since they start at different times, and all in mid-to-late August. I should know sometime in the early Spring.

There are several members here who live in California. Why not start out trying to organize something on a small scale with them? It's how us east coasters started out.
Hmm.... Good idea.
