Are you asking about the film or the novel? They don't mention oil in the film or the novel. However, in the novel they mention olive oil since Vito started out in the olive oil business.

in the novel, they mentioned and olive poil war between families. And I think, in the film, that Clemenza, when is talking with Michael before he kill Sollozo and the Police Captain, told him about other wars. This other wars I think are the Oil war.

As Olivant said, the reference to "war" in the film was generic to Mob wars in general--not specifically to the olive oil business. Clemenza was tellimg Michael that, periodically, Mob families went to war. Here is the dialog:

MICHAEL
How bad do you think it's gonna be?
CLEMENZA
Pretty goddamn bad. Probably all the other Families will line up against us. That's alright --this thing's gotta happen every five years or so -- ten years -- helps to get rid of the bad
blood. Been ten years since the last one. You know you got to stop them at the beginning, like they should have stopped Hitler at Munich, They should never've let him get away with
that. They were just asking for big trouble.

In the novel, young Vito begins his "man of respect" years by achieving a monopoly in the olive oil business. He makes war on other olive oil wholesalers to force them to come to terms with him. The novel doesn't say that his compedtitors are Mafiosi. In fact, the only one of Vito's competitors who is actually killed is characterized as "an arrogant Milanese," scarcely the description of a Mafia guy.

Are you sure you know what olive oil is? It doesn't sound like you do. They don't make money with oil; they make money with olive oil.

Just goes to show the trouble that is caused by too much dependence on foreign oil.
