Go figure, Wisconsin unveils its one redeeming quality.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

First of all this is a long review and I know only Rage fans will probably read it. Anyone else who reads the whole thing rules.
So I was at the the Rock the Bells tour this weekend in San Francisco. I'll start by saying Rage Against the Machine was everything I expected. They were awesome. Zack, in all meanings of the word, is a madman. At one point he was jumping around the stage the way he does all the time, but got overly excited and lost his balance and fell backwards HARD against the stage behind him where the drummer was playing. I mean he really fell hard, but it didn't phase him. They even ended, with the typical encore where we had to wait five minutes before they came back out (what idiot ever started that mandatory retardation of live performances?) that consisted of five or six of their songs all chopped up into segments that made up one long song to end the concert. It was actually pretty cool.
Now for the bad part of my review. This is probably the worst concert I've ever been to. For some random reason it was held in the McCovey Cove Parking lot which is the parking lot for AT&T park, where the Giants play baseball. As far as I know there has never been a concert at that spot. I have no idea why they played there.
The parking lot is on a slight incline and the main stage was at the upper part of it, meaning people who were shorter than me were blocking my view of the stage. So I basically payed a ridiculous amount of money to watch Rage on the three video screens up above the stage.
The concert was also nothing but Hip-Hop/Rap leading up to Rage. There were about 20-25 groups leading up to them. The second stage was so close to the main stage that all I could hear was a constant bass and drum beat that made one stage indiscernible from the other.
The second stage finally shut up by the time Cypress Hill started, and they were pretty good . Wu Tang Clan... bleh, I've never been a fan and I'm still not after seeing them live.
The best part of the show was the random acts of theft I witnessed, as well as the San Francisco freaks who somehow wandered into the concert area.
In the end, I would still pay to see Rage live, but I'll think twice before seeing them again at that venue. I wonder how good the shows are around the country for the rest of the tour.

Well, I saw them at Randalls Island NYC @ the Rock The Bells Tour. It RAINED ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL DAY. And my brother and I had VIP tickets, and we mainly went for Wutang and Talib Kweli and Mos Def. Also the Roots (but they canceled)=( Rage was AWESOME though, and it was extremely muggy and gross and crowded, and people were mean, but all in all, it was expected. I didn't like the venue either, but mainly because it was all mud and grime by the time the second act was on. And at that show the second stage was really far away, so there was no interference. Oh and then Flavor Flav waved to me. I'm not sure how I feel about that, still.

Oh and then Flavor Flav waved to me. I'm not sure how I feel about that, still. haha, I'd feel weird if he waved to me as well. Although probably for different reasons. That's too bad it rained all day. How long ago did they play in New York?
