My God, I can still remember gagging on boardwalk pizza Why? Cuz we actually like cheese on our pizzas? Try The Sawmill in Seaside Park -- "World's Largest Slices" (27" pie = 4 slices; and great, too -- I prefer thin crust anyway ) Or if you prefer tomato pies, try Maruca's (DMC - their site says they have a location in New Brunswick - ever try it? Can't be the same as on the boardwalk, tho - that salty air makes all the difference! )

Then you must love brick oven pizza. There's a place in Staten Island called DeNino's Tavern that makes an excellent thin crust pizza. Problem is that you cannot go on the weekends because there's normally a two hour wait. Excellent Pizza. Don Cardi

The real question here is, who has the best food in New Brunswick? Don Cardi We could always make a day trip to CARMINE'S at the TROPICANA in AC, and while we're there.....

Pastries from Egidio's, fish from Randazzo's, meat from Vincent's, Prosciutto and Mortadella from Teitel Brothers, Bread from Addeo's, pasta from Borgatti's and cheese from Calandra's. I also like to get the special cheese from Mike's, the one that they serve at Pasquale's. It's actually from Argentina, and I can never remember the name of it. If you live in Throg's Neck, you must know St. Benedict's. My brother and his wife got married there, and my niece used to teach there. Btw, my aunt lived on the corner of Lorillard and 187th. She used to throw pots of water on Dion and the Belmonts, when they harmonized under her window. EDIT: Sorry for hijacking the thread. Back to the August weekend. Now that we have a place to stay, we need to pick a place to eat! And all of this talk about food should help get us in the right mood.

The real question here is, who has the best food in New Brunswick? Don Cardi We could always make a day trip to CARMINE'S at the TROPICANA in AC, and while we're there..... Funny that you should mention that PB. Early on we had considered Atlantic City as a possible venue for our weekend get together. Unfortunatley some of the hotels, believe it or not, were already booked for that weekend! And those that still had rooms were looking to get $250 and upwards a night! So after throwing around some ideas, the Hyatt in New Brunswick seems to work the best this year for what we are looking to do. Our Don Geoff and our friend DonMichaelCorleone are both very familiar with the area and therefore were able to confirm that the HYATT in New Brunswick is a nice affordable place for all that is in an area which has some great restaurants, some interesting activities, and is in a location which allows one to access other parts of New Jersey and Manhattan without much traveling. It is also conveniently located for most, traveling from different parts of the east coast, who are serious about coming. If the past three gangsterbb weekends are any indication, then this will again be a really great time. Great friendships have been made through these weekends. I know that I am looking forward to building on those friendships that have already been made and hopefully will make new ones with those attending for the first time. Don Cardi

I see now... it seems you've known DC your "whole life" after an hour... but for SB and me, it took 7 whole dinners to feel like you've known us for only "years"...? Sheesh. And here I thought sleeping with you would bring us closer together...

So even though I don't get to enjoy the pleasures of my Willy now that he's gone, you still get to enjoy talking about him? No fair! I don't suppose you've caught any of "Bob" on his show yet? If so, you'd be singing a whole different song. Once you go Colbert, you don't go back. Exposing my Willy? Heavens no! This is a new season! I'll probably be exposing my Woody (Williams) instead. (You dirtbags have destroyed me...)

Sorry, I had no idea you lost your Willy! Did you?? Really... that must hurt! Sorry... Well... most would prefer going from Willy to Woody I'd imagine... but still, it must be hard... But "dirtbags"?? Surely that's uncalled for!! I, at least, could be called much worse I suppose!
