It looks as though Mattingly is being groomed for the job, but if the Yankees fail again to win the WS, and Steinbrenner wants a change, I don't think an introvert like Mattingly has the disposition they'd be looking for.

Is Bowa with the team still? He is the anti-Torre, a get-in-your-face guy, who'll challenge anyone to do better. If they think current management is too complacent (and I don't), Larry Bowa brings fire.


Yeah Bowa's still there. They do have plenty of candidate's in Mattingly, Bowa and if they wanted to bring in Giradi. However, I still don't understand why they let Lee Mizzili go?
