It really was a great movie. The more I watch it the more I come to believe that Marty really deserved the Oscar, that it wasn't just a lifetime achievment thing.
It is ironic though, all those classic Italian-American/New York movies, and he wins it for an Irish gangster flick set in Boston.

I agree, I enjoy it more and more everytime I watch it. And don't beat against the Irish. He should have made an Irish movie 20 years old, his Oscar would be dusty as sh*t now
