Ummm.... that's how we've always done it... and if I remember correctly, you've always played... so I'm not sure where the confusion comes from all of a sudden.
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol
