I find this picture (from space) of the U.S. during the big blackout from a few years ago very interesting:
I sat on Lori's porch that night looking up at the sky, telling her kids to remember the night because we may never see the night sky so clearly again.
I was in the elevator of a Madison Avenue office building. Thank God I wasn't between floors or I would have been stuck for at least a day. They got me out relatively fast, about 30 minutes. Of course being in the city, the first thing to go through my mind was that it was terrorists. Thank God it was just the electric companies.
