I love paella. I don't like my steaks too flavored. If you order a good cut of steak, then why shouldn't the natural flavors of the meat be allowed to come through??

I think thats just the Spanish way of doing it, I'm sure you could order it without spices. If you've ever been to Longhorn Steakhouse they have great steaks but ruin it with all of the spices.

If you love Paella then you'll love it from Nova Terra, I really wanted to get it but didn't want to order the same as her, but looked really good.

Must be some dinner. He's still not back!

Then again, maybe he's still having his special dessert ;\)

I'm writing to Penthouse Forum as we speak lol

On a completely unrelated note, they opened a new hotel across from Stage Left, called "the heldrich" its a more modern place.

So without starting another series of restaurant debates and stuff, do you think that Nova Terra is the kind of restaurant with a choice of foods that will suit everyone's tastes?

Yes I do, there really is a good assortment. I've gone with people from all different backgrounds and they've all loved it. And if a true Spanish woman is giving it her thumbs up then you can't complain.

I HATE marinades, or God forbid barbecue sauce on my steak. They have their place, on chicken, ribs, etc...but if I go to Balducci's, for instance, and I'm spending 15 bucks a pound on a rib steak, it's getting brushed with olive oil, sprinkled with salt and pepper, then thrown on a flaming hot grill till it's medium rare, serve it with some nice grilled veggies.....and that's my trick.

PB, the only beef I will marinade is London Broil and Flank Steak. And remove the "medium" from your description (mooing is more my speed), and you've got the perfect meal.

DMC, If you're not too worn out, my rugs are looking as if they are in need of some maintenance. Hey, did you hear that JG got his feet washed for Holy Thursday???

I love rare-near raw beef. London broil and flank aren't "steaks" in the traditional sense of the word, I marinate those too.

9 hrs to go, SB...formaggio.

Oh, I had steak tartare at Cite, and it was out of this world. However, that's a restaurant you can't drive home from.

I too am not a believer in marinating a good piece of meat. It drives me nuts when I see people put ketchup or BBQ sauce on a good piece of Filet Mignon, New York Cut, Sirloin or a Rib Steak.
Goos cuts of meat only need an olive oil rubdown before being put on the barbeque. A New York Cut or a Sirloin will sometimes get a dip in breadcrumbs after the olive oil rub, but that's about it. NO SAUCES!

However I do marinate my Flank steaks. And usually for about 24 hours. I tend to favor marinating them with a sesame/garlic based teriyaki sauce.

NO!!! That was one of my favorite steak houses in the city! And their wine dinner was, hands down, the best buy in Manhattan. Are they closed, or are they relocating??

It a Dinner show. A caberet style show. Usually you have dinner first and then stay at your table for the show.

Then after the show we ususally walk out to the hotel lounge area where there are couches, tables and chairs along with waitress service and jazz music.
