DP, since Irishman won't tell you, I think he and I have the same problems with BLOOD DIAMOND, which sets itself up as a social message movie(message? It sucks to live in Africa) only to become instead a proxy for a meh action movie set inside a melodrama. By the credits, you just don't give a s*it who dies or whatever.
You're supposed to be outraged(since you know, it sucks to live in Africa) but one is given reason to seriously care. Its not a bad movie. Hell DP, you might even like it. Its just to my eyes, senses, and nose, the movie is flatter than a young girl's chest. Of course I didn't care for LAST SAMURAI either, and some BB.Net folks enjoyed it, so it depends...
BLOOD DIAMOND (2006) - **1/2 Thanks RRA, I wont see it until May, but I'll give my review of it then.

Pizzaboy, Warner Bros. owns the video rights to ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, while MGM(or actually, SONY corporation) owns the rights to the Man with No Name trilogy. Thanks Ronnie, I figured it was something like that. DC and I had been messaging each other quite a bit about ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, so I recently picked up the special edition dvd. They did a great job. If you get the chance to pick it up, you should. You'll understand how that movie really drove Leone for over 20 years. I highly recommend it.

http://thedigitalbits.com/ Warner has announced some major new releases today as well, including the Letters from Iwo Jima: Special Edition (on 2-disc DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray - both single disc - on 5/22) I hope that they have a feature on the dvd that will allow one to watch in English and not english subtitles. I'm sure it will. A lot of the foreign movies I own are dubbed like Hero, House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower. I'm sure they will, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I bought Pulp Fiction, Snatch, and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels today. Yaaayyyy. I love SNATCH. Well, that didn't come out right, but it's a great movie anyway. Dennis Farina was great as Cousin Avi. Guy Ritchie was accused of ripping off LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, his own movie, for God's sake, but I don't look at it like that. It stands on it's own two feet.

In other words, whoever said it....SHUT UP!
