Yeah Beth, it's a great show... I don't know how they do it, but every episode ends with something super suspenseful, but even more so when they're gonna take a mid-season break or something. Yeah, Sarah's the doctor who helped them escape last season. The second half of season 2 is starting up again January 22. I wonder what happened to the black couple, too... and I don't remember the wife's name. I know the husband is C-note.

But yeah, the brothers are gorgeous.

SB, you mean the riot from 2000, with the burning cars and stuff? That was so crazy-- it's amazing what people will do when everyone around them is doing stupid stuff. They looked like they were all completely insane, and there were so many of them! Thousands, literally. I wasn't in town that year, I was in San Francisco for a couple weeks, and I got back the next day after the riot. Good thing I wasn't there... imagine trying to go to your car in that mess. Even worse, imagine finding your car pushed upside down by a crowd and set on fire.

Thank God it's not usually like that after games... the most noise you'll hear is a bum playing drums on buckets and paint cans on the next street corner. He's actually pretty good.

I went downtown like a week after the riot that year, and there was still so much trash and broken glass on the sides of the streets, and remains of burnt things, I don't know what. I don't know how long the cleanup took on that.

People are so weird... like fine, we're all happy that they won, go have a drink with your friends. There's no need to turn the city upside down.

Yes, and the video was frightening. I couldn't believe how quickly it escalated. The most frightening thing was when they torched the newsvan and the police cruiser.

Btw, did anyone watch Letterman tonight? Kristen Chenowith was on. She's adorable, but she is also the teeniest thing on two feet. She was talking about her past relationship with Aaron Sorkin. It made me miss West Wing.

She's cute when she's on a talk show or something, she was also on Craig Ferguson once and she was completely charming, but her singing voice gets on my nerves. She sang the National Anthem at a Dodger game I was at once (actually the last playoff game they played, a couple months ago), and it was all I could do to not cover my ears. But she seems so sweet and funny, it's a shame. I'm sure a lot of people like her voice too though, I think she won a Tony for her work in "Wicked", right?

To be honest, I'm damn tired. It's only January and I'm so sick of the rain and the cold. I can't believe we're going to have MONTHS of this before the warmth. It's so depressing. And I really shouldn't even complain. It's been so mild and we've yet to have any snow.

We've got about a inch of snow on Wednesday. Then a few weeks before Christmas we got about 5 inches. Even here it has been very mild hopefully it will stay that way. Last weekend we went to VA to see Becky and it was in the high '70's there. People were walking around in shorts. I really enjoyed the warm weather.

I miss the warm weather. It's so frustrating to stare at the damned pool, day after day. Although it's been a mild winter, it's been a dreary one, and it's really starting to get to me. I want baseball and sunshine!!!

Aside from a dusting or two, we haven't had any snow to speak of. However, it's been -15 with the wind chill for the past 2 days. It's supposed to warm up to the 30s again over the weekend, and then the temperature is supposed to plunge again.

Well, it's almost February, and February's a short month. There's always a few nice days in March, and then it's April and the flowers come up. See how fast that went, Mig????

We only had a dusting here last Sunday and a little bit Friday. It was in the 50's a couple days last week, the dropped to 10 degrees, now today it's about 55. No wonder I had the flu for over a week.

It was supposed to be sunny and in the 30's today, but I don't think it made it. It's cold and depressing. You don't even want to leave the house. Everybody keeps saying that we should be grateful because there's no snow, but I am NOT grateful. I'm cold and cranky.

Happy 22nd Birthday to my daughter Nicole. (No, I'm not old enough to have a 22 year old daughter. At least that's what I tell myself).

She's been celebrating since last weekend when she went out with friends. Then Friday she went to the movies and dinner. Saturday night her girlfriends took her out, and last night her grandmother and her best friend took her to dinner. And her birthday's not until today. I made spaghetti pie for dinner, and even brought her flowers. I'm a nice date..hahaha. I even emailed her pictures of Jeter.

22?? Wow!! Well, Happy Birthday to my fellow Jeter fan!! Beth, you must be in the Guinness World Book of Records for having a daughter while still in Nursery School.

I'm watching the Yankees right now on Yes. I know they're only exhibition games and don't even count, but baseball is BACK!!!!

I told Nicole Spring Training is here, so you know what that means. She's like, "Yeah baby, Yankees games". And those are at Oriole Park.

No worries though. 90% of the stadium is Yankees or Red Sox fans when those teams are in town. But the owners shouldn't mind. Whenever those two teams are not in town the stadium's 90% empty. hahaha.

Tell your daughter happy birthday for me Beth.

I know how you feel Beth. Becky is 23 and it doesn't seem possible that she is 23. Where is the time going?

Happy Birthday to your daughter Bethie! I think the Guinness world record for the youngest female to give birth was a four-year-old. (It's true!)

Bethie must have come in second.

DB is just one of the gals.

I think Don Sicilia is the only person on the board with 3 sets of initials: DB, DS and CS.

Chick sandwich. At some time in fantasy baseball Don Sicilia was placed between Zia nd Gina, so they said he was in a chick sandwich. Gina will call him CS from time to time.

This picture of baby Joshua is from January, but my niece just downloaded it. It cracked up so much I thought I'd share. This is basically the cutest expression I've ever seen. I miss those boys so much, I haven't seen them in weeks. It's tough to decide who to spend more time seeing, the 2 two boys or baby Natalie. You don't want to make anyone feel left out..haha. I figure this pic is appropriate for the sports section since he's wearing a Ravens outfit.

Sorry I've been gone from here for so long, ladies! CUTE picture of baby Joshua, Bethie.

Astros news...

We're 0-4.

Oh, good Astros news?

"Astros to retire Bagwell's No. 5
Legend surprised with news during pregame ceremony"

\:\)

It was a difficult time when Bags first broke away from the club because some wished he could keep playing while others knew it was his time to go. His reason for leaving being injury made it much harder on him because I know he wanted to still be out on the field, physically able to do what he loved. I wished he could, but I also knew that, in the shape he was in, it would probably do more harm than good. I guess it's just a matter of knowing when your time is up, and it seems Bagwell has come to terms with that. He'll continue work with the club, through coaching and work in the front office, and he now has more time to spend with his family. He had an amazing career, and fans will always remember his accomplishments and the impact he had on the Astros.

 Quote:
"Jeff Bagwell is one of the greatest players ever to wear an Astros uniform or the uniform of any Major League team," said McLane, who also presented Bagwell with the first base used at the 2005 World Series. "Jeff is a true leader who exemplifies what a Hall of Famer is all about both on and off the field.

Gina!!!! Isn't that nice?? Great Pic! But you always post the best.

Well, my Yankees aren't doing much better. They're 1-2. Everybody felt so much better about the pitching staff this year, and so far both Pettitte and Mussina could only last a few innings, and they were not good ones at that. I am NOT a happy camper, but at least we can watch them. Last night they got their butts kicked by Baltimore, and Mr. Babe turned to me and said, I waited 6 months for THIS???

Funny you mention retiring numbers! I read an article last month that the Yankees are having a hard time giving out numbers in spring training because they've retired a good many, and the guys aren't happy about having high numbers. When Jeter was asked how he got #2, he said it was just coincidence that he fit into the uniform of the guy who had it before him!!
