Birkhead is father of Anna Nicole's baby


A former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, was identified as the father of Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith's seven-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, on Tuesday after DNA test results were released by a Bahamas court.

"I hate to be the one to tell you this but, I told you so. I'm the father," Birkhead, a Los Angeles photographer, told reporters and sightseers outside the court in Nassau.

"My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon."

The buxom blonde's death in a Florida casino hotel on February 8 touched off a storm as various people fought over her body and also over her baby. The child could one day be worth a fortune if Smith's estate wins a decade-long battle to inherit from a former oil tycoon husband.

Mig, wouldn't that be nice?? I'm so sick of hearing about this woman! I have a certain amount of pity for her, and think that people will never stop exploiting her, but I also think that she did plenty of self-exploitation. Let's move on, shall we??

Actually, LAW AND ORDER has already filmed a "ripped from the headlines" episode, with Kristi Swanson as the Anna Nicole character. It's set to air shortly.

After Jerry Orbach left, then passed away, it was still okay with Dennis Farina, but with the new girl, it's almost unwatchable.

I haven't watched it since Jerry Orbach, and I'm a huge Dennis Farina fan. I just never liked him in that role. Throughout the years, the cast changes have been seamless, but that was just one I couldn't get past.

Which L&O shows is Michael Imperioli on? I believe it's Criminal Intent, but not sure.

No, he filled in for the Ed Green character on the original L&O when Jesse Martin was filming RENT.

Oh, ok. The only L&O franchise I watch regularly is SVU.

I agree pizzaboy. The idea of a female detective for the first time on L&O is a good idea(look at the spin-offs) but damn, she does suck.

Dennis Farina was solid, and I felt he filled in the vacancy so soon after Orbach died. Besides, cop-turned-actor-playing-cop is always fun to watch. Anyway, he got tired and quit.

There have been serious rumors though that Noth, who filled in for when D'Noffrio was in the hospital for "exaustion"(Translation: Drug Rehab and/or Nuts), might be asked to return to L&O...but I doubt it.

Then again, who knows.

Plus, LAW & ORDER's other problem was that it got evicted from its lofty Wednesday 10PM slot to Friday Nights...a traditional DEAD night(though it was getting its ass kicked ratings-wise by another NYC show....CSI: NEW YORK)

Wanna know what I think the problem is Ronnie ?

The show's dynamic has always been the father-son relationship between the senior and junior detective, be it Briscoe-Logan, Briscoe-Curtis or Briscoe-Green. Okay, Jesse Martin's probably around 40 now so I guess he's ready to play the father role, but it just doesn't work with him partnered with a female cop in the same age range.

This story is so overdone it isn't funny. However, I have to admit, I was curious as to who the "real" father was. I was not at home all day so just found out it was Birkhead.

Keeping in mind that anyone (or everyone) might want the money, not to mention media attention, but I was hoping it was Burkhead because he "sounds" sincere. He said in an interview recently that he had taken a child's CPR and first aid class and that he also enrolled in a some kind of parenting class and had his nursery all set. He seemed sure from the beginning.

Anyway, the main thing is the baby and I hope he provides her with lots of love and good parenting. Perhaps this is the end of this story hu? Oh, and what about the poor Prince? He took a DNA test as well. Now, that would have been a shocker had he been the father.

Re: Law & Order, I too heard about the "ripped from the headline story" similar to Anna Nicole's story. I always liked that L&O kept on top of the headlines.

I always have watched all the L&O. I didn't mind Jerry Orbach and I thought Farina was good too, but I do find myself lately watching the other channel. Criminal Minds is opposite L&O CI, and I'll probably watch that. Maybe it is the new partners on L&O, I don't know? The new girl on L&O Criminal Intent (Chris Noth's Partner)! Where did she come from? Why did they get rid of Annabella Sciorra? This new gal is hard to get use to.
