You're killing me!

In the summertime, on a sunday morning, I'll go to the pork store and get a homemade HOT FRESH mozzarella and a fresh loaf of Italian bread. Then I go back home, sit in my yard, play a little Sinatra or Andrea Bocelli and MANGIA!

Let me see, given your location, Motalbano's or A&S, am I right ?

It's a website where there's a sick fetish for the mafia! ;\)

Montalbano's is a pool/patio company! ;\)

Actually I used to go to A&S. That was until they sold it to some middle eastern people who

1) No longer made homemade fresh mozzarella but instead had it brought in.

2)Were seen dancing on the roof of their store on September 11th and when people saw them and surrounded the store, they had to be led away by the police or they probably would have been killed. Needless to say they didn't re-open after that and they quietly sold the store to some other jamoke who couldn't tell the difference between fresh mozzarella or Polly-O if his life depended on it. \:x

When I lived in Brooklyn, I grew up right on the same block as the original A&S Pork Store on Avenue X.

Now I go to Certo's for my fresh mozzarella.

Leather britches are green beens that are strung up and dried out. Then you cook them for a couple hours. Delish.

That's wht you gotta give us Italians credit. We take grits that we pay 50 cents a pound for, cook em, call em polenta and charge 20 bucks a plate. And they call gangsters shylocks.

Oh! I love polenta, too!! And this chickpea thing that my cousin in Italy makes. It's sort of like polenta, but made from chickpeas, and they cut it into squares and fry it. SO good!

As for my grits, I like them with butter, salt and a splash of cream.

Why do you guys always make me hungry???

I love grits, probably because I've never had them close to home in my life. When I'm in Boca, everyone wants to go to this restaurant, that restaurant, I can't wait to get to Denny's for the grand slam with a double order of grits.
