Bethie, MLB.com said Dontrelle Willis wore 42 for the Marlins, but he was out by the time I flipped to the game. I'm watching Cubs and Reds now, to make up for my boys' rainout.

Scott Olsen was Florida's starting pitcher. It doesn't make any sense to have someone wear #42 who isn't even playing.

I made some brilliant picks for today...

0-4 C
0-4 1B
0-4 2B
0-5 SS
0-4 RF
0-4 DH

5 full points of offense! And in the Yahoo draft game - most of my points where benched (cuz I freaked out about the Fla/Atl headline today that said washed out -- thanks for that one, "good ol'" ESPN!).

...but at least I didn't pick the Marlins PS (-9) in some fake double header

And one more whine... not only did Mo blow the win for the Yanks, he blew my Pettitte's W points!

[/whine]

[cheese]

Speaking of Yahoo... seems I lost my (disappointing) BJ for a bit - but my Wang should be back soon! \:D

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I did't know a man could have a disappointing BJ.

I still don't know who she is.

How frustrating it must be for you Gina to have the person in front of you with your Astros as his ps. Who do you root for? \:\)

Hopefully this is who CS meant. If not...it better be someone just as impressive.

You see what he does? He makes comments that require us to actually learn stuff. Such a nerd.

Oh, Bethie, it's always Astros first. As long as they're winning, I'm happy. \:\) Actually, I was just trying to convince Brad Ausmus that I was rooting for him because of personal wishes first, then business...but that I would be especially glad if he got me some points tonight. I think he understands.

Yep, that's her. I figured it would be an apt comparison for someone who loves baseball and enjoys statistics (still do?) like you do.

Oh, yes, I still enjoy Stats! Assuming you meant the class...baseball stats are always my favorite, though. haha

Most recently we have done chi-square tests, which are a lot of fun now that I have all the calculator stuff figured out. Our teacher always has us learn how to work out the problems on our own, then he gives us the TI-83 shortcuts. I think it does help us to eventually understand everything better, but I always get confused in the intial transition from paper to calculator. I guess I should be grateful I don't have to work everything out by hand.

Ah-ha! I knew I'd get that out of you. \:p

We young'uns have problems, too, you know. We might not have the correct program on our calculators, or perhaps we forgot to clear our memory (on the calculator, not our own memories... ;\) ). Or worst of all, our batteries could run out! And then what?? Huh?

We wish we remembered how to do it the good ol' fashioned way, that's what.

In my day, we had to worry about our pencils breaking.

Also in my day, we walked to school and back 30 miles, uphill both ways. \:p

(Or I'm confusing it with JG's old days. \:p )

How'd you sharpen those broken pencils, CS? With your pocket knives? \:p

And were those uphill 30 mile walks in your bare feet?

Ohh...wait. I, also, am confusing this with JG's old days. ;\)

It's always fun to play the "Back in my day" game.

For some reason, I have a voice in my head:

Can we get back to business please?

Considering my place in the standings, I don't really want to.

CS, think of his predictions. No way he'd have you where you are now, so you better move on up to fulfill what he would've predicted. Otherwise, it'd be like trying to prove him wrong. Would you dare do that? Would anyone? \:D

Delurking to interject here that I am thrilled to see the girls in spots 2 and 3, although I expect you to over take TM any day, and then duke it out for 1st.

Gi, thank God you have calculators and don't have to work it out with a chisel on stone tablets, like we did back in the day. Or worse, on the cave wall.

OK, OK, I won't take them off-topic any more!! I promise!

Girls Schmirls. I just want to win. And I'm embarrassed that it took me a few games to realize that I couldn't submit my lineup the morning of the game , but then again when do men ever read the directions or rules.

I suspect the ladies will hang with us for the first month of the season, but when the testosterone kicks in by the middle of May, it'll be a different story. \:p \:D \:\)

Actually Beth and Gina, as you all have known and I've come to learn from reading their posts, have a deep understanding of baseball and this fantasy game as well.
