I believe in oranges too, but I think they symbolize power rather than foreshadowing death/violence. But I have yet to meet anyone who shares my opinion. *shrug*

Re Orange Theory
Was recently informed that allegedly Cosa Nostra settled originally in Southern States of America. They made their legitimate living by selling oranges. They clashed with local officials. This was apparently called 'The War of The Oranges' Could there be a connection? Could the producers of the movies have done their historical homework?

Welcome to the board daniela yeah, the orange is very well recognized in michael's hand when he dies. http://www.jgeoff.com/godfather.html As a matter of fact, both Vito and Michael are the only ones to die WITH an orange in their hand (or mouth from Vito's POV)

I don't believe in the Orange myth because you see them everywhere-not only at certain points but oranges are everywhere in the films. I think it was just a ay of keeping Sicly with the family.
