Hi there.
I'm sure there has been a thousand references to the Godfather in other movies. Maybe you would like to post them here, it's cool to watch.
For example on Seinfeld, i've noticed it three times: 1- Jerry saying "Elaine, don't talk to me about my business" 2- A parrot's name was Fredo, and after it died they said: "Fredo was weak and stupid" 3- Jerry got massacred in a dream and Kramer came and said: "Look what they've done to my boy"
So?
Are you talking to me? Well i'm the only one here...

References? Boy do I have a list
In THE RUGRATS IN PARIS MOVIE, they watched the GODFATHER the night before and in the cartoons wedding scene, the kids go to Angelica asking for favors, I think she was called the Bobfather (as the kids always butcher words)
Many rap artists (god for friggin bid) have taken names from the movie, there are rapper's called CORLEONE, Godfather, Fredro ( a reference to Fredo), a rap corporation called Murder Inc.
In the TV show SOAP, they used the term "Godfather" for the Boss' identity- never used before in televsion
In ALL IN THE FAMILY- Archie once witnessed a mugging and the victim was Italian, Antonio Voschino. Archie said it was 2 hoods in blue silk suits driving a Cadillac, when it was really a punk kid. A member of an Italian defemation society named Ralph Silvestri visited Archie to discuss his account that was in the newspapers.
Ralph Silvestri: Mafia is not even a word, its defunctit.(phonetic) Even in that movie "The Godfather" they never say Mafia. You know what the called organized crime? Organized Crime
John Belushi in a analysts group skit as the Godfather on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
In the movie the FRESHMAN, Mathhew Brodericks caharcter is an film major and his Professor (Mr Bentley from the Jeffersons) uses Godfather II as his only example of movie making. Marlon Brando's performance is a direct copy of Vito Corleone- best line in the movie
Clark: Is that Benito Mussolini Carmine: It aint Tony Bennett

I vaguely remember some cartoon show from when I was younger, where one kid had trimmed a shrub thing into the shape of a horse, and later woke up with its head in his bed. Maybe it was "Hey Arnold."

Maybe it was "Hey Arnold." I saw that too, but it was "Pepper Ann". Why I watched that show I don't know... BOY MEETS WORLD In one episode, Eric came to Shawn and Cory asking for a favor and with Italian music in that background they said things like, "This I cannot do" and that, "We are legitimate." There was also a recent commercial where a guy put roast beef in his wifes bed to make room for beer and she woke up and screamed. lol

Hi! Originally posted by Chancre: Just about every movie, cartoon, television show, or bit that has the head honcho or villain sitting in a chair petting his cat. Wasn't this first shown in one of the James Bond movies back in the 60's? And even then they must've taken inspiration from someone else, I guess. Back to the topic. There's a hilarious GF reference in "Hotshots 2": when the main couple visits an Italian restaurant, one can clearly observe Mike, McCluskey, and Sollozzo at a table next to them. Best regards. Alexander P.S. Ah, yeah. Petting the cat. Bart Simpson does just this when a plastic figure of James Bond is cruelly melted in a microwave oven, this time with absolutely no chance for escape. What a nice triple connection.

Hey! I like another one from Seinfeld. Jerry is no longer a godfather of a child of his friends, and Kramer becomes the godfather. In the end of the episode we see Jerry and Elaine standing in front of Kramer's apartment as the door slowly closes, and both of jerry's friends are kissing Kramer's hands as the godfather music is playing. This was very amusing.
