GF1: I just can't get over the scene when Michael and Enzo were waiting outside the hospital until Sollozzo's men came to kill Don Corleone. Michael was cool in that scene....Also the scene when Michael was confronting Carlo asking him who approached him to set-up Sonny....Of course, the baptism where the 5 heads of the Mafia Families were killed. GF2: When Michael found out that Fredo betrayed him....Fredo's death scene....Vito Corleone holding Michael in his arms after killing Fanucci. GF3: Michael's confession...really touching!
(Michael):"It was you Fredo. I know it was you. You broke my heart. You broke my heart." (Michael): There are many things my father taught me here in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

GF I- "I believe in America." What an opening! On the big screen it's phenomenal. You don't see shots like that in film. That one phrase sets the stage for the entire series. It's one of the great openings in cinema.
GF II- Kay vs. Michael. Michael is now betrayed by his own wife. Kay keeps wanting Michael to be the man she married. In this film, any scene between them, is fantastic. One I haven't seen mentioned is Michael's return to Tahoe. He comes into the house and it's so quiet it's just desolate. You can feel the complete isolation between Kay and Michael; just the sound of the sewing machine whirring in the background. You can taste the loneliness of the place. It's a tomb. Shades of things to come.
GF III- First off, I love the shot of the bishop sailing down the rotunda, it's beautiful. As much of a loss as this film is, my favorite scenes, again, are Michael and Kay together because that's when we see shades of the original two Godfather films. Fantastic work together. As a scene however, I love the flashbacks of the previous films showing Michael being happy, of the things he loved and, eventually, destroyed. That kind of flashback realism has been possible in film and it's powerfully used in the denouement.

I “Aw, make time, consiglieri. Get in the car. What are you worried about? If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead already. Get in. “
Always reminds me of Christmas growing up, nice to see Hagan doing something so normal and caring like shopping for gifts, only to be interrupted by a knife wielding Grinch. Tom is my favorite Corleone
II
“I enjoy watching football in the afternoon, one of the things I enjoy about this country; baseball, too. I've loved baseball ever since Arnold Rothstein fixed the World Series in 1919. I heard you had some trouble. Stupid -- people behaving like that with guns Important thing is, that you're alright. Good health -- the most important thing in the world. More than success, more than money -- more than power.”
Shows the history, and subtle power of Roth – I’ve always been a big Lansky fan.
III
I hated this movie – it did little but get worse with each added plot element in my opinion. If I had to pick a scene just for its visual and visceral impact it would be the street murder of Joey Zsa Zsa. I was just glad when the movie ended and the debate over which was actually a worse third part – GFIII , Mad Max III, or Jaws 3D?

My favorite scene is when Kay tells Michael of the abortion and we all know the famous line when she says "... this Sicilian THING that's been going on for 2 thousand Ye..." (Michael makes this sentence STOP)!
"From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn." (King of New York)

GF1 - You have to answer for Sonny, Carlo. Drink, drink... there is a car outside waiting to take you to the airport... Tom, tickets? Now who approached you?
GF2 - When Michael hears Fredo say, "Johnny Ola brought me here..." that look on Michaels face. Then the kiss of death.
GF3 - I know FFC wanted to go a certain direction with Michael... I just was not hot for this story. I like the attempt at going legit... but Michael was sooooo... weak at this point. Only thing that could have saved it was Vincent saving the family. He didnt.
With that said... my fav scenes were...
negotiating with the archbishop and agreeing to 600 million from 500 million without much thought...anything to go legit.
Vincent and Connie as he swears loyalty. very powerful.
"What I want.... whats most important to me... is that I have a guarantee" - Train approaches.... Bang! Bang! Bang!

gf1--mike in sicily gf2--flashback at end of movie I am of course referring to the "Sonny-flashback" at the end of II. We see Mike slumped dejectedly in his chair after Fredo's death, a very heart wrenching end to the movie. Then the scene fades to Sonny saying... Hey, everybody, come on pay attention. The first time I watched this my heart almost stopped beating. For about .0000001 seconds I thought that he (Sonny) was still alive.
