Well, it was a good run while it lasted. \:\/

CS, the Caballo pictures must've done the trick. Will a little Alba tempt you, so I can steal my spot back? \:p

In my best Napoleon...

"Lucky."

Oh, hey, fantasy insider info! I'm going to go ahead and let on to all of you a big hint on pitching that I think will be really helpful...

Pick against the Astros. Always.

\:\/ Over the last four games, we've averaged 1 run per game, and I think a .188 team BA.

I guess, in a way, we're doing a wonderful favor for all of the opposing pitchers. Just thank the Astros for that lower ERA, fellas! In my boys' defense, we have faced (and will face) some tough starters, but jeeez!! Anyway, I had to whine a bit, in hopes of an anti-jinx.

Makes me wonder about MY team, the Giants. Did the Giants young pitching "phenoms" pitch so well because they are amazing young talent or was it because they faced your Astros? Argh! Why does baseball have to make you think so much!? I hate that I love it!

Lou, just so you know I'm rooting for you in this league. Us DNP-People need to stick together. In the draft league I can't say the same about you, but in this league... Rock on brother! Should we do the whole "holding each other accountable" thing and send PM's to each other to make sure we set our lineups every day?

Too bad we can't start a poll half way through the thread. I would love to start a poll to see who has the best chance to move up in the standings... myself, or Lou. My money is on Lou.

I don't now what my problem is. This is a game I've won several times in the past. I know I'm very busy this year, but there's no excuse for me missing as many days as I have.

Funny you should say that, as I have Webb tomorrow vs HOU. Guess we'll see which jinx/anti-jinx is more powerful! \:o

The Astros have a knack for making anyone new, any rookie, any fresh face, look like a seasoned veteran. So you really can't judge any of your guys by how we play against them.

My boys have gone 1-10 in their last 11 games. I also hate that I love it!

CS, what if the Astros end up stealing your line? "This game sucks. I may not play next year."

Baseball has kept me from watching Jon and Stephen like I used to...and I guess I wanted a change from "Bob Saget."

It's just that, to say the least, I've fallen a bit in love with Jimmy Page.

Though I've just been informed that Jimmy looks like a chick in the picture I had, so I'm still looking around for a new picture to keep.

Colbert is still in my heart, but I've had the Zeppelin fever for a while now, and it's impossible to resist.

I was so worried I'd post them right when you were doing them...which I'd guess is worse for you than when I don't do anything.

And, ah yes, now I understand why Winn is a winner... ;\)

I justify it (altho Plaw always thought I was wrong) by thinking that even the best player can get a zero any given day -- so when I discovered Winn (at $3.5) was on a roll, I decided to purposely give him a zero once a week just to keep him at that salary - and there he'll stay until he gets hurt I guess... lol

I guess we'll see if those zeros add up or not... well, zeros never add up, but you know what I mean! ;\)

PS - Who's that chick as your avatar? ;\)

I'm hoping you aren't doing tomorrow's pitching right now - I just edited my post with it...

I was just thinking about whether or not it's worth it to save guys when they're locked, as I had quite a few for tonight that I had to decide on. I usually put too much thought into it, get annoyed, then just make a quick change before the deadline passes. I would think a good position to keep locked is catcher, since it's such a likely spot for DNPs anyway. For me, at least.

Chick, huh? \:p If so, (s)he's the hottest chick I've ever seen. ;\)

Catcher isn't the one I'd lock in, actually -- they normally don't play day games after night games, so that's at least 2x/week they won't play. (Yeah, I haven't been using Redman or Assmus lately ;\) )

If you're gonna lock someone in, it better be someone cheap - who's performing well. Well enough that 1-2 days/week it doesn't matter if he doesn't play.

But Plaw was right in that you can always find *someone* at lower salaries to give you points. And while I agree, I also still believe that sometimes holding on to someone (in the long run, at a very low salary) can help as well - since you can afford more for other positions, while simply sucking-up a zero once/week.

Anyway, not sure why I'm giving out some of my strategy advice in public.

Ah well -- time for bed...! ;\)

Too late now for Winn at least: He's gone from $3.5 to $4.7 \:p
Tho, with 3 0-fers in his past 5 games, plus a day off, maybe I'll need to change my strategy soon...
