BL 2645 SFO () "Low Value" Strategy Yeah, at this point I'm experimenting. Seeing as how I was doing so bad changing my lineup regularly I decided to get good players while they were slumping then hold onto them while they are cheap. It's my first year playing this so I have to try something. Since I am the only one who is doing that, and since all of you have played this before, I'm assuming your strategy works better than mine. Next year I will hopefully start off better because it took me a little while to figure this game out. Has anyone else tried this "low value strategy" before?

Has anyone else tried this "low value strategy" before? I think when we first started back in 2003 (have we really been playing that long? ), we used the "low value" strategy somewhat. It is used intermittently now (e.g. JG and his Winn) but most of us change everyday trying to take advantage of matchups, ballparks, etc... Gina, I think, prepared a primer for beginners in her school league. I'm sure she covered "Low Value" vs. "Changing Everyday".

Darn, I knew I couldn't fool you Gina. I must be so gullible. You've led me on all this time, hiding your true self. I just can't believe it took me so long to figure it out. Gina, I think, prepared a primer for beginners in her school league. I'm sure she covered "Low Value" vs. "Changing Everyday". Half of that guide I made was devoted to explaining how to navigate the BBC site. I didn't cover much game strategy except with the two or three people that actually got interested in the game. Personally, I don't think I ever was certain about low value vs. everyday changes. If I can get a guy locked in Monday, I'll try to save him, but I can never convince myself it's okay to save him through off days. My friend does believe in locking guys in, and he's been saving Hunter Pence. I used to love to just sit back and watch the stats nerds like CS, JG, and Plaw discuss these things in great detail. It was almost a sport in itself. BL 2666 HOU () HOU: Oswalt (6-4, 3.38 ERA) vs. OAK I wouldn't say this is the best strategy. I just heard on the broadcast that we're 6-8 in Roy's starts...even when the Wizard works his magic (which is most/all of the time), we often find a way to lose. Yes, this is an anti-jinx for tonight's game.KL 2785 DET () DET: Verlander (6-2, 3.12 ERA) vs. MIL This was apparently a great strategy! Congrats to you and Verlander.

yo Yo YO !!!!! Big Daddy in Da House and giving a shout out to all my peeps and peepettes ..... So here it is the thread where it all began, my old stomping grounds. Hey SC if you are lurking you remember this guy right -----> I don't even recognize many of the players these days although from some of the threads I read, certainly not like the original crew. What a bunch of intellects we are were - the way we could turn the simplest statements into some sexual innuendo, thinking back it was like attending a friggin' MENSA convention. Anyway I had to post because I was just bursting with pride .... Awhile back I had to PM my Man, may main Man - The Douche and chastise him for his pathetic play. He was in last place - he corrected me and said 'second to last place' - not acceptable. Not only was he in last place, opps second to last place - he was behind 3 chicks - Crabby, Gina and Pork (I guess people don't call you that anymore). Actually I think he was pulling up the rear on Geoff - eww that sounds nasty, I just got a bad visual on that one Need to clear my mind - think Jessica Alba, think Jessica Alba, think Jessica Alba ..... Ok back - so Da Douche was in second to last place and I had to call him out on it. I thought it was the marriage, you know a married man letting all the important things in life fall. Told him it was time to Cowboy Up - get out there and start kicking ass and taking names, get that eye of the Tiger back. He assured me he would and I said when I see it I'll have to give him a public shout out - so here I am. First place - as Gumby says You Da Man, Damnit! But I don't want to see any setbacks now, don't get complacent with your lead - it only matter where you are at the end. And as PL always said, it is 'overall' that matters anyway not just a half. Of course winning the baseball game is not like the winning the FanPool Football game, now that's a game for the Masters - strength, foresight, knowledge - it all goes into that game. That's the one I won I think .... So here is my shout out - keep up the good work Douche - don't be letting any 'chicks' pass you down the stretch either. I expect this same determination the rest of the season. And I would like to see some more bad mouthing between players - everyone seems so nice. So hope everyone is doing well from the old crew and the new. As you were Peeps .....

BDD! Welcome back - I always look forward to your posts. I'm so glad you whipped CS back into shape. I was starting to worry about him. And I'll do my part to promote more bad mouthing and mind my lowly place as a chick. Aww don't take the 'chick' stuff personally besides I just play along with that stuff - it is really Da Douche who promotes it. Matter of fact here is a part of his reply back to my PM .... <coughclearingthroatcough> Thanks Big Daddy Wuss for snapping me out of my rut. True I can't have the chicks beat me in fantasy sports. Don't get me wrong there is a place for these chicks like behind the oven at dinner or behind a vacuum - but not in fantasy sports ....So go figure - me it doesn't bother me as long as things stay within reason. Us guys let things get out of hand next thing you know you chicks will have your own thread in the Sports section, posting pictures of male athletes and oogling at them ... we can't have that happen .... But on the times I do check back I expect you to be doing plenty of bad mouthing ... remember if you can't win you can at least make those ahead of you feel bad about themselves. Hey Pork - I gotcha your 'Bad Daddy' right heeereee .... I'd imagine you are pretty comfortable in you little sandwich roll so I don't expect much movement although I would sense the bread to your sandwich will soon tire and move onto new meat. Ok - back to the game.

Don't get me wrong there is a place for these chicks like behind the oven at dinner or behind a vacuum - but not in fantasy sports .... There goes BDD again... Still hasn't gotten over his habit of sharing private messages... What's going on, brother!? Yes, I owe my rise in the standings to you. After all, who can't get fired up with encouraging words like "Why are you losing to three chicks?" or "Stop being such a wuss." or "Married life is ruining your game." Big Daddy was right about how intellectual the game was back then. In two turns of phrase, we can turn "Game cancelled, doubleheader tomorrow" to "[Bad Phrase] [Bad Phrase], will you take a look at the [Bad Phrase] on her?" We would also partake in some pretty rigorous statistical discussions. For example, Plaw, JG and I debated for a few pages of posts what the statistical probability of choosing the higheset scoring team. Big Daddy would read it and see "Blah" "Blah" "Blah", all the while thinking "Jessica Alba" "Jessica Alba" "Jessica Alba". Welcome back brother! We need your [cough] wit [/cough] every now and then.
