I guess the main site of interest (Beatles related) would be to see where John Lennon was shot (and Strawberry Fields, a short distance away).
And where would that be?

Excuse me for the stupid question, but is the Shea Stadium still in use..thats where the reall rock concert was invented..
As SC pointed out, it's currently used as the home field for the NEW YORK METS baseball team. However they are building a brand new stadium next door called Citi Field which is being modeled after the old Ebbetts Field, home of the old Brooklyn Dodgers before 1957. So if you plan on coming to the states and seeing Shea Stadium, you have two years left to do so before they knock it down. DE NIRO, are you planning a trip to the states anytime soon?

It's just time, that's all. Shea is over 40 years old, which nowadays is ancient for a baseball stadium. One of Gordon Willis' first cinematography jobs was THE BEATLES AT SHEA STADIUM (1965). He also worked on Woody Allen's MANHATTAN. Oh yeah, those Godfather movies, too.

Good memory. Lennon was shot outside his apartment building, The Dakota, there. Aside from gaining popularity due to the various celebrities that have lived there over the years, it became well known when it was used as the apartment building that Mia Farrow and John Cassavettes lived in, in the Roman Polanski movie 'Rosemary's Baby.' There is a lot of HISTORY in that building.

There is a lot of HISTORY in that building. The movie reviewer, Rex Reed, lived there. Years ago when I was driving the taxi we sometimes had packages to deliver (got an extra $5 plus no mouthy customers...it was a good deal).... anyway, I had to deliver an envelope to someone in The Dakota. As I'm walking through the gates I literally bumped into Reed (quite hard). He just let out an "Ooooof" but it felt like the Pillsbury Doughboy as my arm went into his gut. To this day he still reminds me of a puffy Tom Hanks and I laugh when I remember his "Ooooof".

I think De Niro and LLC should have a fist fight to decide who the toughest skinny person is on the BB. I'll have you know that I'm 125 pounds of pure man.

Yeah. Only I'm about five inches taller than you, so I look like a POW.

From the outside there's nothing really grand about it. You'd never know it was The Dakota except for the tourists all getting their pictures taken in front of it. Present company included.

I haven't been inside of it since I was a kid. From what I remember, it was nothing special. That's the thing about Manhattan, especially the Upper West Side, an exceptionally "artsy" neighborhood. There's really nothing special about alot of the apartments themselves. But hey, it's New York, right?
