The Washington sports channel here is playing a classic Nationals game from when Vinny was on the team.

You want to know how much of a geek I am. This game is from April, 2005. I took a picture of the tv for Vinny's at bat.

I wasn't at home for most of the game, but I found out about this and caught the clip. It looked terrible - I feel so bad for Everett. And us. He might not be much of a hitter, but he will be greatly missed out on the field. Stats during the broadcast showed that, since 2005, he is second among shortstops in fielding percentage. I think his was about .984 for that period of time, and this year, it's .973. There are so many plays he's able to make that other guys aren't, and we take that for granted. We'll soon realize how much of an asset he is to us.

Gi, I know exactly how you feel. We've had so many injuries on the Yankees. We lost Hughes, our best potential starting pitcher, with a hamstring injury, and then he sprained his ankle during his rehab. And we lost our first baseman after he was injured in a collision. Of course, Pavano is on the DL, but what else is new???

Joshua turned 1 yesterday. I can't believe it. It's been a jammed packed year. And the month of June is half way over. I told my mom yesterday before you know it we'll be Christmas shopping.

The Orioles fired manager Sam Perlozzo. They need to fire the owner.

Thanks, SB. Injuries are just terrible, aren't they? They don't even have the chance to be out there on the field, helping the team out. Though, here recently, we've actually had a spark in our otherwise anemic offense - that's something to be happy about.

Hey, SB. Know what Nicole found out last night. When The Yankees come to town on June 26 some Yankee players, including Jeter, are supposed to guest bartend at this bar she hangs out at. She'll be there with her Jersey to get him to sign. You know she's gonna take pictures. You may need to see if Derek comes back to New York with bruises and scratches.

I'll have Nicole confirm it. She went to that bar Sunday and someone told her. Hell, you could come by and go to the game. Any chance to get up close and personal to Derek. I hope someone's not playing Nicole. That would be a horrible joke.

Here's what Nicole emailed me back.

"Pretty sure. The owner of the bar was the one who told me. There's going to be a whole bunch of Yanks and O players being guest bartenders."

"Well the bar is kinda new so I don't know if they are advertising, but the Bar is call Rauffy's".

Has anyone seen the commercial for the All Star game? Since it will be in San Francisco, all the guys are on trolleys, heading down to the stadium. It's a fun commercial, and the guys look pretty cute.

Yeah, I think I posted something about it in the baseball thread. Someone shows a sign that says "Duck" before a beam almost hits on of them. It's pretty funny.

I always enjoy the All-Star commercials - something about the ASG that makes me even more sentimental about baseball and appreciative of the game. It's the one chance to root for players who are otherwise the rivals in the NL...and even watching the AL players all together is so much fun.

Nicole and I joined up for this gym. We start workouts tomorrow. It's 30 minutes, 3 days a week. You get all the vital parts of your body measured. That was fine until they took my body fat index. Hahaha.

Nuff said on that subject.

You won't share the measurements with us?

Hell, they didn't share them with me.

Who knows, the next time you see me I'll be a lean, mean, fighting machine. Or at least I'll still be mean.

Curves it is. It looks pretty decent. If people swear by it then that gives me more incentive.

I gave Nicole and email about what happened at the bar last night. Tonight is the game, but last night is when they were supposed to bartend. She went there, but didn't come home with anything signed and no pictures, so maybe something happened. Or maybe Derek wasn't there and she lost interest..haha.

The wife of one of my coworkers joined. She loves it. She runs over on her lunch hour and does her workout. She's certainly lost tons of weight, so it worked for her.

BTW I also went to the International Festival they had. So I went to the Italian booth to see what they had to eat cuz I was starving. My mother-in-law said why are you going there? I said cuz I'm an honorary Italian. That sauceage and pepper sandwich was delish.
