My area is now under a Severe Thunderstorm WARNING.... it got dark really quickly.

Very strange, but last night my cat, OzzieBoy, became afraid of the thunder. He's 16 years old and NEVER was afraid before (in fact he used to jump up on the window and watch thunderstorms)... it was rumbling pretty good around here last night and he jumped onto the bed with me and insisted on crawling right next to me and cuddling. As soon as the thunder stopped he moved on to the bottom of the bed (as if to say "I'm not afraid anymore"). It kind of spooked me.

That is kind of odd. But sweet in a way. He was looking to you for comfort. My cat's been, well, a scardy cat, from day one. A bird flew in my house one time and she ran under the bed. She likes to sit on the windowsill and look at them, but only from afar.

Could you guys do a girl a favor and tell the weatherman to bring the storms down here. Besides the one drop of rain around noon it's back to being oppressively hot

Turn up the a/c, pop one of your new movies in the machine and chill tonight. October isn't that far away.

My a/c unit is in my dining room, so my living room remains somewhat cool, but certainly not all that cold.

I'll watch the new movie after I go to the gym. Gotta work myself into more of a sweat. OY!

Not to rub it in but the skies just opened up here for 5 minutes. It was surreal.... I was sitting at my pc looking out the window and I just watched this wall of water in the sky approach.... I could actually see it getting closer and closer until it poured right on my street. Five minutes later and the sun is out again.

Boy, it seems like you even get quickies from heaven.

Yeah, but those are the only quickies I get lately.

Another, heavier round of thunderstorms is due in about an hour... I better go and get some dinner while I can.

That must be the angel's cigarette break.

The stupid weather girl here said every county was under a thunderstorm watch. She said if we were watching her we were affected. Meanwhile I don't see a cloud in the sky. I feel like telling her where she can stick her voice.

So, it started pouring again. It was beautiful all day (besides that downpour around noon).. then when I'm walking to a guy's house to pick something up, it starts POURING again.

I'm pretty sure I'll be sick within the next few days.

Please don't say that SC. After October Winter is right behind it and I'm not ready to shovel that white stuff yet.

It's sunny and beautiful here and I'm confident enough to say we will get very very little (if any) rain for the entire summer. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm weather. Yet, I'd give anything for a good old fashion thunder boomer. On the rare occasions we do (and even if we do, it doesn't compare to the midwest/east), I am sure to mute the tv, turn off the music and just enjoy the storm. Is that weird?

I LOVE it when it rains (when I'm not caught out in it ) especially when it storms. Turn off all the lights, put some music on, maybe smoke a little sumthin sumthin, and just lay there. Faaaaaaaaaaantastic.

I wish I had a porch here; porch-sitting during thunderstorms is the BESSSSSSST.

If you don't get the rain there doesn't you're city impose a water ban? They do that where my in-laws live. I love to watch it rain. And the smell of rain is very refreshing. And if you're lucky enough after the rain the good Lord will give you a rainbow.

I just took an unscheduled shower.... I went out to buy some dinner and misjudged how quickly the thunderstorms would hit... I now have a river running down my street (both sides of the gutter are moving like a stream)....

bogey - I also wish I had a porch from which to watch the storms... and a nice doob to go along with it.

TIS - you would've loved this one.... brilliant flashing lightning followed VERY quickly by LOUD crackling thunder... it was an intense 15 minutes!
