By the way, J-Bird's Little League all-star team was soundly beaten by Hershey, 11-3. He went 1 for 3 with a run, and pitched a scoreless sixth inning. Hershey had some boys whose dads won olympic medals and one who quarterbacked in the NFL. In fact, I knew we were in a little bit of trouble when their moms came with gloves and could outplay our dads.
He still may advance if his team wins their three remaining tournament games, which they can do.
My stepson is going to his first all-star tournament this weekend as well. He's thirteen and is one of the top three players in his league, as a hitter and pitcher, so it's pretty exciting. It's going to be a grueling weekend of baseball though with two games a day and possible more on Monday depending on how his team does. I guess I'll just sit out in the sun and continue working on my sunburn.
