I finished watching this one and it is very good. My only complaint is that the movie could have been a bit shorter. Michael Mann can sure bring the action home after all he did Miami Vice and Crime Story. I did notice a Heat two disk DVD. Is it any different than the bare bones one I have?

A great film from a great director.

The 2 Disk is great, mainly for the extras which shows how Mann has his actors trained with firearms and such, along with the making of the film.

You should check out Collateral, which IMO is Mann's best.

I agree, esp. the love story b/w Neil & Edie. But worth it for the bank robbery scene and a superbly made film.

One of the best scenes is the one in the coffee shop with Pacino and DeNiro. I believe this is the first time these two have shared the screen together.

That is correct. The first and only time on screen together for Al & Robert.

DeNiro is one of the greatest actors around besides Pacino. I am now watching Ronin with Robert and Jean Reno who I consider to be up there with both of these guys.

I love this film.I dont reckon it goes for too long though.I enjoyed every minute.Yeah that scene in the diner is great.Cant believe these two giants have only shared the screen once.Maybe thats a good thing.I found that the ending maybe couldeve been a bit better but all in all its a great film with the two greatest actors of our time.

Awesome flick. The sounds of the machine guns rattling off during the heist was unreal. My favorite part (besides the famous diner scene) was when DeNiro's crew tricked Pacino's crew in being watched and photographed from a distance, and Pacino realizes and goes "Damn, these guy's are good".

My favorite scene is when Pacino and the cops are staking out the metal place that DeNiro and his boys are robbing. The cops are hiding in a tractor trailer and one of the cops accidentally makes a noise, alerting DeNiro that someone may be watching.

"That's exactly what they'll do - they'll walk and you will let them."

Heat is another one of my favorite films. Pacino and De Niro are unbeatable, and the violence is brutal and perfect. Simply brilliant.
