How does that make any sense? Only a #1 (in your eyes) position player is a "great" start??

I want to accept JL's trade offer but stupid Yahoo won't allow it because it will make me over the roster size, but once my other trade goes through, there will be no trouble with the roster size if I drop one player. I wanna drop Turnblow. the comissioner should pronounce the trade done and we fix it later according to Yahoo mood.

the trade

 Code:

JL gets

Jose Reyes

TM gets

Hanley Ramirez, Jered Weaver, Jose Valverde

drops

Derrick Turnbow

TM. I think there is some sort of option to drop players when you accept the trade.

I looked at your roster. You'll need to drop 2 players. You have 25 active on your roster.

I'm not sure this trade helps me. I guess it make up for the fact I wanted to draft Reyes #1 overall, but I clicked on Soriano instead. I never expected Ramirez to be as good as he is, and he was by far my best draft pick. I have 7 guys on the DL so I needed to open up some roster space. I'm hoping Santiago Casilla will continue to be un-hittable and can replace Valverde. I also have Dotel and Lidge on my roster. I'm hoping at least 1 of them will be effective in the 2nd half. I have Carpenter coming back, so I could let Weaver go. We'll see how it works out.

You need 2 catchers in this game, or you'll lose 25+ games at that position. Having LoDuca as a backup to start on your #1's day off isn't bad. There are few if any teams in our league that have 2 great fantasy catchers. Some don't even have 1.

Anybody need pitching? I'm looking for a good 2B or 3B. I'm willing to trade just about anybody, even hitters along with pitchers if it's a fair trade. It doesn't have to be those two positions either. If you have a good hitter at any position that you think is an improvement over what I have now, let me know. I am very open to trades and discussion of trades right now.

EDIT: Lowe, Snell, Harang, and Smoltz are guys I'm more interested in trading. But again, I'm open to all offers for anyone.

I guess no one else has any comments on this trade. I'll say what I have to say, and then let the others that still have a chance to catch DB decide it's fate. The trade is completely one sided. Hafner has more points than Howard, but I'll call that part a wash. Utley for Hamels should never happen. Utley is the #2 player in the entire game, and the only player other than A-Rod with over 400 points already. Hamels is a borderline Top-10 SP, who pitches in a band box. This isn't just a bad trade which I've already argued in the past should be allowed. FC is in last place and he's giving the 1st place team the 2nd best player, for a SP DB doesn't need.

#1/#9 trades always bring up at least a little suspicion -- despite the fact that we trust both parties here -- but at the same time, that's when we have to look at such trades more closely. Especially those in contention.

I glanced at it briefly, but not closely. Not yet. That's why I haven't offered my opinions just yet. But in the end, a bit of bad luck is all it'd take to equalize the numbers. ;\)

Utley is #2 in the game?? I don't think I've used him even once in BBC - if he stood out at all, I'm sure I would've. But again, I haven't looked into this yet, and haven't given my formal opinion on it yet... but I sure hope others do!

This is the first trade this year that makes me feel very uneasy. There were trades in the past that I didn't like because other teams were getting better, but I thought they were fair. This trade doesn't seem fair, and I'm not sure why FC is making this trade. I need to think about it some more, and wouldn't mind hearing FC's and DB's reason for why this is a good trade for both teams.

A-rod is #1 with 457 points. Utley is #2 with 401 points, tied with Sheffield (after Sheff's HR). Sizemore is 4th. DB would now have 3 of the top 4 players.

Well, he has a 400 point lead with the #1 pitcher in baseball and a roster full of the leading fantasy players. Pujols isn't even hitting for power (yet), and it hasn't slowed him down a bit. \:\/

I think if we ignore that fact that it's DB that's getting better, this trade still doesn't seem very fair, to say the least. I mean, if he were trading with AP, none of us would be too worried about it, but it still wouldn't make much sense. I think that's why I'm concerned about this trade.

By the way, I am taking a No-Trade-to-DB vow for next year \:p
