 Disgusting...
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

GG, that makes two for me and one for KL now 0 days for a PS, 2007BL = 2 GG = 1 KL = 1 Well, I've conveniently forgotten the original challenge, so I say the true winner is whoever makes it to five!! Thus leaving myself and Klydon with a fighting chance, despite your apparent skill. And I assume you meant "0 points," rather than "0 days," right? By the way, Klydon, I like your trivia questions! I don't know the answers, but I like that you're giving us some good baseball info. 20-14?? I just got lucky because I had no idea who to pick last night. I didn't even realize there was a DH until late. Let's see what Haren does. I was supposed to go to tonight's game, but various streets have been flooded from all the rain today, and I don't think we'd make it to the stadium. We have a roof on the ballpark, but I still ended up getting rained out. I'll have to cheer on my fantasy fellas (Caballo and Pence) from the TV seats.

By the way, Klydon, I like your trivia questions! I don't know the answers, but I like that you're giving us some good baseball info. Here's a hint on the question about the most homers hit by a Massachusetts born player: I had you in mind, gina, when I came up with the question. Hint # 2: He will always be associated with former relief pitcher Larry Andersen.

I thought my problem was not being familiar with the hometowns of players, but this turned out to be something I should've known! Since you had me in mind, I realized it had to be an Astro. I knew it wasn't Biggio because I happened to know he's from NY (hopefully headed back, as our announcer so eloquently put it, to another town in NY...Cooperstown) I then went to Baggy, figuring it could be him because of his already high amount of career homers, regardless of state origin. Then I sort of cheated. I went to Wikipedia, and the first thing that jumps out at me on the page is: "On August 30, 1990 the Red Sox traded [Bagwell] to the Houston Astros for 36-year old relief pitcher Larry Andersen to gear up for their playoff run." Thanks, KL.

Thanks, KL. Good job! I went on record that day saying what a wonderful trade that was for Boston, who got swept by the A's in the play-offs that year. Tune in tomorrow -or maybe the next day - for another fun-filled, exciting episode of TRIVIA TIME!

Okay, I admit I cheated and looked it up on google, so my answer doesn't count because I didn't know. So here it is in a spoiler. If it's wrong, then so is Wikipedia. If anyone actually knows this I will be in awe! Vida Blue... a pitcher, who'd have guessed?

Freakin' dropped from 146 to 137 (3 more ERs) Ahh well. The overall top score was 157. And here's TM bragging on the ESPN forums: 145 for me. 31 from morneau, 13 from A-Rod
gained a 120 pts ground on my league. best day in bbc for me. Yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't have wanted to wish that on anybody. True, but it does make the game a bit more competitive now in the last few days, no? (Well, at least between you and TM)

If anyone actually knows this I will be in awe! Vida Blue... a pitcher, who'd have guessed? Yep. One of my favorite baseball trivia questions. This happened before the DH. Also, you have to limit the question to the AL because Pete Rose won the NL MVP a couple of years after Vida Blue.

That must really boost you in the standings - let me know check .... oh .... 3rd place I see - what a surprise ... nevermind Here's your Christmas present from Big Daddy .... And Klydon, all that talk about moving on up, let me check .... oh .... still last ... nevermind ..... But you are close to getting out of the basement - you can do it, get some of that Phila pride going ... You need to get out of last before the Phillies hit 10,000 losses. And Gina - I still see no bad mouthing from you to DB ... You probably don't even want to know what he told me about you in a PM .... As you were Peeps !

We have trivia questions on the Astros broadcasts, so here's the one from today:
What three New York athletes in the four major sports have had their #7 retired? Mantle jumps to mind and I believe the Giants football team has retired # 7 although I couldn't tell you the name of the player. I think the Mets only retired Casey Stengel # 37 (that's why Keith Hernandez couldn't get it),and Tom Seaver #41, as well as Jackie Robinson #42. Gil Hodges' number is also retired, but I can't think of it. That's as far as I can go. I'm thinking Brooklyn Dodgers or th baseball Giants before the move west, but I don't believe they've retired 7. I don't think it's the Jets or Knicks have retired # 7, so it might be a hockey team. BTW, the most common number retired in baseball is 4. In the early days of numbered jerseys around 1929 players wore the number that corresponded to their spot in the batting order. That's why Ruth is 3 and Gehrig is 4. $ is the most commonly retired number in baseball.

Hey! I'm slow for many reasons... - I'm near OCD, so I have to check several times to make sure I have the right numbers. - I'm sleepy...though, really, I'm always sleepy. - I was trying to think up some witty comments. That's it. I quit!!

Lou, it's the dumbest thing I've seen in a stadium. I really don't like it, and neither do most/all other fans. Hunter Pence made a great catch on it, too, but he was right next to the stupid pole that's out there. Does that make any sense? "Let's stick a hill out in center, along with a pole on it, so that the players will have trouble with any fly ball in that area...and just might end up on the DL! It'll be great for baseball!" JG, I hope you're not listening to the nonsense BDD has been spouting. I'm supposed to be mean to CS, not you to me. What'd I ever do? Or has BDD shown you the PMs I've been writing to him about you?

It's not like I wanted to lose 80 points. (...) Yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't have wanted to wish that on anybody. the White Sox are a team that make me wanna puke. one of the most annoying teams along with the Cardinals.
