It's a PERFECT golf day in New York.

Here in Baltimore too. They got lucky. The hot, hot, hot steam is gone and it's a cool 84 degrees. Lucky bastards. The girls here in the office don't play golf so we just decided we're not doing any work today.

I wonder if time travel is possible?

The lottery drawing in North Carolina had an awesome event this past week. In a contest where you pick five numbers for the top prize they had the same exact (five) numbers picked on both Monday AND Wednesday. The odds of this happening are estimated to be nine in one TRILLION!!

No.... I lost. TWICE!!

My cousin just retired down to North Carloina. Turned in his papers at 55. Between his pension and a p/t job down there he pulls in maybe 80k a year, but down there, he lives like a king.

That is very unusual. I wonder if there will be an investigation or review. I know whenever the daily number in PA(one ball selected from each of 3 machines with numbers 0-9) has 3 of the same numbers, they immediately lock down the machines to verify there was no tampering. It seems the NC event would be pretty hard to rig.

By the way, SC, I just happened to notice that today is the 6th anniversary of your registration on these boards. I believe it was a Friday the 13th then too.

I once worked for a company that was headquartered in Nashville, and most of their sales offices were in the South. My NJ office was one of only two in the Northeast. I used to talk to the other sales reps, and they were all driving Mercedes and even had car phones (this was the late 1980's when NOBODY had a car phone). I used to look at their sales figures and couldn't figure out how they did it, considering they all were making about the same as I was. Then I realized that the house we had just paid $225,000 only cost about $65,000 where they lived.

That's it, right there. Everyone says "cost of living," but that's bullshit. It's the cost of housing where you save your money in the south.

I mean, you ever go out to dinner in Palm Beach or Boca or Miami? It's the same as going out in NYC. Sometimes even more.

And I'll tell you, housing is finally starting to catch up, in South Florida, anyway. I paid $210,000 for my condo back in 97'. I can get twice that now, but I'll never sell it.

Even the Russian Czars never paid that much for a Condo down in Florida.

I drove to Key West from my place last summer. Russian wiseguys everywhere!
