Sounds very similar to my avatar, Paul Castellano, and the situation with his daughter. She was married to a guy that was in the Gambino organization that was abusive to his daughter. Castellano didn't do anything about it, but as soon as they divorced the ex son in law disappeared and was never heard from again.
