The hero and the coward both feel the same thing, but the hero uses his fear, projects it onto his opponent, while the coward runs. It's the same thing, fear, but it's what you do with it that matters. Cus D'Amato

Why are books so fucking expensive? And why do second-hand ones satisfy me much less than new ones? I know what you mean.. I've dropped $150 on a book before. And then when I tried to sell it back at the end of the year, they offered me $5. I donated it to some charity instead. $5 is insulting.

The most I've spent on a book was $50 for Hunter S. Thompson's Curse of Lono. It was out of print for like, 15 years, before going back into print around 2005 or 2006. So, I thought it just cost a lot for that particular reason. When I recieved the actual book, as I've told to a few of you before, it turns out the book is about 18 inches tall and ten inches across.

No, it is. I can kill a full-grown bear at 200 yards with it. No, really, I've done that. It works as a pretty decent tool to skin them, too.
No, really. Where do you think I get all my clothing without contradicting my socialist values?

Has anybody ever been so overwhelmed with things you have to do, want to do, and think you should do, that you just completely block it all out and ignore your responsibilities completely?
Things just keep piling on. Been there, done that. Burying your head in the sand only makes things worse. Pick yourself up and take the first step to getting something done. You'll feel a lot better about yourself!

So I get up this morning to get ready for work. Go through my usual routine (go pee, brush teeth, wash face). I get dressed and go to put on my shoes...and see something weird. I bring it close to my face and see that there's two daddy long-legs sitting on my shoe.
I nearly soiled my Huggies. That's not even that bad, man. I've got giant fucking crickets in my basement. They're about three inches long, and they can jump over a foot in a single leap. They're brown, disgusting, and crunchy... Which is the worst, because I have to watch my step when I come down here, to make sure I don't step on any by accident, because the sound and feel they make when you crush them is just absolutely disgusting.

...and see that there's two daddy long-legs sitting on my shoe. You're kidding right? I can see small/fast/hairy spiders as being a problem... but Daddy Long Legs?? The least-offensive of ANY spider? Hell, I let them crawl all over me as a kid... and would now! ....and your prob w/ them is what again?
I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! lol Whaddaya want me to do? Whack a guy? Off a guy? Whack off a guy? --Peter Griffin My DVDs | Facebook | Godfather Filming Locations

Daddy Long Legs are supposed to be the most poisonous spider on the planet, aren't they? If only they could bite us....

I must be the last person on earth to have never read or seen any of the Harry Potter books or films, but I must say, all of the hype surrounding the final book has me rooting for the fella to live. I think you are. A couple of months ago that statement would have been false, but I just then saw half of a Harry Potter movie at a friend's place over dinner. Don't know which part. I would try describing by mentioning invisible cloak, spiders, an escape in a car from the spider place, a huge serpentine animal towards the end, a ghost girl with amnesia, a dwarfish slave etc etc, but I am sure all the parts have all these stuff

I must be the last person on earth to have never read or seen any of the Harry Potter books or films, but I must say, all of the hype surrounding the final book has me rooting for the fella to live. I read half of the first book, and it felt really unsatisfying and irrelevant, so I put it down right after the chapter about Christmas. As for the films, an old girlfriend dragged me in to one of them one time, and I don't really retain much of it, not even the title. I just sat in the back with her, and ruined the enjoyment of everyone else in that theatre by mocking it aloud, and coming up with my own dialogue. Kind of a weak franchise, in my opinion.
