To lose 20 games in a season Klydon? Yes, indeed. Here's another with a hint...All of these have something in common, but it is not a common birth place although birth place is relevant. They are Rafael Palmeiro, Luis Aparicio, Larry Walker, Bobby Thomson, Pete Rose, Vinny Castilla, Andruw Jones, Roberto Clemente, Larry Walker, Ichiro Suzuki and Julio Franco. Perhaps after next year Aparicio may no longer have the common trait, but a present SF Giant could join the list then. Another clue...If I were to put them in an order relative to the common trait, Pete Rose would be first, followed by Palmeiro and then Clemente.

That's what I caught on to, but Pete Rose was born in Cincinnati, right? So how can that work? But all the others are from outside the U.S. And for Gold Gloves, that was also the trait I was finding a connection with - but Pete Rose won 2, Palmeiro won 3, and Clemente won 12...so that's not in order. Klydon, I feel like a fool - I've got 10 Wikipedia windows open right now. You guys are good. You're on the right track about birth place, but it's not about fielding. Omar Vizquel is the guy, who can knock Aparicio off the list after next season, but Vizquel can not knock any other player off the list. Some day Vladimir Guerrerro can knock Julio Franco off the list. other persons, who presently shares the common thing with the group is Heep Seop Choi and Edgar Rentereia.

TM's lineup hasn't changed since Thursday. Same in the Yahoo league. I hope he's okay EDIT: Since we traded in the Yahoo league he hasn't put a 2B in his lineup or used any of the two pitchers I traded to him.

Okay, thanks. I posted in the other thread how I made his 2B position active. I hope he's okay!

Not necessarily dead... just not used to people disappearing w/o warning, that's all... Glad you're alive and well. Too bad I didn't notice yesterday, cuz you'd've gotten a HR from your benched 2B

TRIVIA: When Frank Thomas recetly homered to become the latest member of the 500 Homerun club, he became the largest member in this fraternity at 6'5'' and 257 lbs. The smallest meber of the 500 HR Club is the shortest at 5'9" as well as the lightest at 170 lbs. Who is he? BONUS: What do these present and former MLB players have in common? They are Rod Carew, Gorman Thomas, Dave Kingman and Kevin Youkilis. There are some others too. Kingman and Thomas led their respective leagues in homers in the same season, but that has nothing to do with the common trait although it marked the only year in baseball history that BOTH leagues were led by players with this thing in common. A prior Hall of Fame player with this thing in common had led the AL in homers. Thomas and Kingman had this common thing all their lives while Carew acquired it, I believe, as an adult. It really has nothing to do with performance on the field, but it has caused a major leaguer with the common trait to miss a ball game late in the season. This guy is now a Met and will likely miss another game this season. This characteristic has nothing, or perhaps very little, to do with birth place. You didn't really think I'd give you the answer to this one so soon.

BONUS: What do these present and former MLB players have in common? They are Rod Carew, Gorman Thomas, Dave Kingman and Kevin Youkilis. I think I finally got one! Were each of these players Jewish?? I am almost embarrassed to say how I knew this: from Adam Sandler's "Hannukah Song." Here's the line:
O.J. Simpson - not a Jew.
But guess who is? Hall of famer Rod Carew -- he converted
We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby.
Harrison Ford's a quarter Jewish -- not too shabby
Your clue about the current Met gave me another hint - the media always mentions Shawn Green and his missing of games due to Jewish holidays.
