SC,

Believe me, I am planning to post. No, I do not have a digital, but will take pictures and have them put on a disc and then download and post. Or, if my daughter's digital camera is working I'll use that. \:\)

I'll tell you though, these pictures are making me sentimental. I want to call my parents and ask them a bunch of questions (not really even important questions)about their lives and such. They'll think I'm nuts. This thread is making realize even more how life is so short and I feel the need to grab all the information I can, while I can. Know what I mean? \:\/

One more from Beth -

1969. "The Godfather" novel was just released; Beth was in kindergarten:

Thirty eight years later, hardly any change!

How cute Beth!!! \:\)

You'll never get me to post my elementary school pics. Ha ha ha. I'm still searching for my good side.

Awww, Beth!

And TIS, please post them! I'm laughing at all the old photos of my family right now - my brother, cousins, mom, and dad as kids. And most easy to laugh at are the ones of myself.

There's this one picture of my dad, and I just can't get over how much it looks like my brother did around the same age. I mean, to me, I'd think it was a picture of my brother, made to look aged and from longer ago. It's like they're twins.

And there's a funny little league one of my uncle, who I've always thought looked like "Ham" of The Sandlot when he was young. He wasn't as big, but he reminds me of him.

We're moving into grade school pics?

Oh, a Godfather tie-in? Um... Michael Corleone had already gone legitimate, and uh...

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

What was that, about eight years ago, then? ;\)

To show off your strength, aren't you supposed to lift a chair with someone in it?? \:p

There was someone in it -- I punched him so hard, he's now part of the chair... *flexes*

Now that's impressive.

And I can tell you were the trouble kid. It seems your books are shoved aside, you're positioned in the corner, and there's a telephone just in case you act up.

Here's a photo that just cries out for a caption. Some possibilities:

1. "You driving yourself, boss?"

2. "Rocco, sit on the other side. You block the rearview mirror."

3. "Nice work, Lou."

Attached Files 133-JayinCar8-57.jpg

"For me, there's only my wife..."

"Sure I cook with wine - sometimes I even add it to the food!"

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies?"

"It was a grass harp... And we listened."

"Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?"

"No. Saints and poets, maybe... they do some."

I never would have guessed that this is Geoff....

The tie in to "The Godfather"?? ... this would have been around 1972 (when the movie first opened); Geoff throws a fit (and a chair) when he learns he's too young to get into the movie.

Umm, I'm not quite that old yet...! \:D It was just about '76 -- about when Michael was becoming "legit"... ;\)

(and yeah, when you're 10, 4 years makes a big difference ;\) )

This is dated August, 1958. Sr. Vitelli starts his cross-country drive to attend Anthony Corleone's First Communion party. (He'd get there just in time to open the drapes).

All these photos make you sigh! \:\) Just like when I'm going through my parents' photo album. I may manage a few macro shots and share them.

"Also, he, too, had a way with women."

Time: February, 1958
Place: Miami Beach, Florida

Young Vitelli, caught in the act. Here I am, planting one firmly on the lips of - my cousin. Yep, she is my first cousin. Does that mean I "love her first"? NFW!! She grew up to be Queen [VeryBadWord]. I haven't spoken to the bee-yotch in twenty years. My mother looks on, wondering if she should have me "fixed".

I should've visited Hyman Roth instead.
