Yeah.. by July 1st next year I believe it'll be up to $7.25, but they're doing it little by little.

I was making $5.90 at my last job when they raised the minimum wage, and he only raised me to $6.00. And I'd been there 11 months. So the cashiers who'd just started and were getting paid $5.50 were raised to $5.85, so I was only making 15 cents more than people who just started. Now thats some bullshit.

I was watching an ad for a medication for Restless Leg Syndrome. After they give you the all the happy talk about how this medicine will solve all your problems, then they rapidly tell you the side effects and things you need to tell your doctor. Not to push buttons, but is there anything more annoying than the idea of a Christian band? I don't care what religion the members of a band follow, so long as they don't try to force it down peoples throats through their music. But that's exactly what a Christian band does... If that's not an objective of theirs, then why bother classifying your band as Christian? I don't classify my own band as Atheist rock or Agnostic rock, or whatever; and if I did, it'd be only logical to assume that such a band maintains some sort of motivation of spreading a message of atheism through their music. So, why a Christian band? Seriously. I don't care who the lead guitarist prays to, just don't try to push it on to people. Blah. The whole notion is almost as self-righteous as Mel Gibson.

Meh. Almost all music (with lyrics) technically "pushes" some message... what difference does it make what the message is, simply because you don't like the message? I gotta hear about pimps and hoes in some rap songs... I gotta hear about hell and satan in some metal songs... I gotta hear about (perhaps opposing) political views in other songs... So what if Christian bands sing about the positive messages of Christianity. They're not pushing anything on anyone - it's your choice to listen to it or not.

I think it is a problem, because religion isn't just a belief system, it becomes lifestyle for many people. So, to force religion on someone is to tell them how to live. It's not like politics where it's subjective in the eyes of both sides of the argument; but religion is something that people hold so closely, and those who follow it rarely if ever question it. So, to sing about your religion is to go, "This is how it is, and there is no doubt about it."
